Its nearly impossible to properly use this product without a significant risk for self harm. Not only will it abruptly catch and literally jerk a drill from your hands...you'll also most likely strip the belts on your drill press for this same reason. My suggestion? Do an overlapping metal belt design. Keep the outer plastic housing. You designed that well. Very good addition that not only protects, but keeps dust down. Completely get rid of the two pronged hole cutting design. Instead, make a four to six armed holding array that can be adjusted with the same sliding peg design. Then, modify it for holding onto a saw toothed metal band that self locks. This could be something simple like screw holes at the ends of the metal saw band. This would give your product a much more smooth operation. If you worry about precision, have the overlapping excess hang/overlap inwardly. That way the outer dimensions do not change.

It's a solid tool, but make sure you have a drill that has enough power for the task.
