It is of great quality, sharp, and has an ergonomic shape, and the lock works well. It would be great if they added silicone around it to keep it secure on glass or very smooth surfaces. Regardless, it maintains great quality and functions well.

This knife feels good in your hand and appears sturdy, with major downfalls. - After limited use the plastic release fell apart. Turns out, it's all plastic! - The pocket/belt clip doesn't lock in place and constantly falls off. Note fix photo.

I used this knife for one day cutting insulation, and went to replace the blade. I slid the blade and ratchet out the back of the handle, removed the old blade, installed the new blade, and slid the assembly back into the handle. When doing so, a tiny plastic piece falls out, and the thumb piece with the Dewalt logo falls off. I can't imagine how I could have inserted the blade differently to not break it off. The blade no longer locks in place, so it's effectively useless. I haven't been disappointed in a name-brand tool in a long time and pride myself in choosing quality tools, but this one is clearly a let-down.

The knife is ok, the only thing is that the screws holding the knife and the exterior shell together, come off too soon and the knife is not as effective as it used to be, it can be used but with a little trouble

As others have said, the metal clip that you use to actually clip this onto something like a pocket doesn't lock in place. Mine was in my toolbelt with the knife in a pouch with only the clip on the outside of the bag. It got snagged on something and is gone forever now.

Knife did a great job cutting a new mattress topper for our camper.

So far i have always used japan made utility knives. This DeWalt is as good as the Japanese brands. It is excellent and feels heavy not cheap. I recommend it to anyone looking for best quality utility knofe.

I really like this razor knife. It's one of the better knife I've used because the blades don't ram up in the knife. They are easy to change out. The only thing I don't like is the end where you change the blades out doesn't lock on somehow. What I mean is that when you put the blade back in the clip sometimes comes off. If it had a lock of some kind it would be the perfect knife in my view. But it's a good knife and I would recommend it.

The knife itself is quite a bit more durable than others on the market BUT...the blade is a P-I-T-A to change out and the first time I tried it the blade breaker butt-end shot out of the handle and the spring dislodged as it takes a pretty forceful push.

I am now on my third one of these knives the first two regrettably I have sitting in a drawer because the end caps keep coming off and I've lost them I clip them inside my pocket I turn around end cap is gone can't find it. it would be nice if the belt clip was permanently attached and that the restraining end cap detent button or something you had to push in order to pull the end cap out. Further, I use this knife in manufacturing we use for trimming paper and vinyl off boards and we always have the knife all the way extended after a while the end wears a little bit and the blade no longer sticks out straight and becomes slightly wobbly

After very little use, the PLASTIC release button fell apart. It wasn't broken, it simply fell into two pieces.To my surprise, the inside of this assembly was also PLASTIC, including the important piece that rides on the zigzag notches and locks the blade in position. It's uncertain why Dewalt would design such a nice metal knife and then cheap out on the release button. Not to mention how you could be injured if the full blade would slide out of the handle during use. Second, the pocket/tool-pouch clip on the top is a nice feature, but it appears to be held in place with simple tension vs a strong catch that snaps securely in place. Consequently, if you don't put it away carefully, the pocket clip slides out and takes flight. I've had to search for this bugger more than once. With a couple fixes, this would be a sturdy work knife.

I would prefer the clicker push button to be metal as well. Its works well and is easy to use. Being thin makes it better than other designs. I shop and make weekly purchases. Many modern packages are sometimes difficult to open. Skip the paper and plastic cuts on your fingers.

This works very well

This is an excellent tool. Certainly more costly than the plastic throw-away ones that are readily available. However, it is well built to last a lifetime, instead of one project or a few months.
