Perfect fit for replacing old weatherstrip on a Clopay 2-car garage door. I used a screwdriver to “uncrimp” the track at each end to remove the old seal. A little WD-40 on the track helped immensely in sliding out the old seal and sliding this one in. Then crimp the track ends again. While the old seal was off, I also removed the track (dozen or so screws), wire brushed some surface rust on the bottom of the door, painted with white Rustoleum, and replaced the weatherseal track using new stainless steel screws 35 cents each. Looks great and saved $$$ vs replacing the lower door section (or entire door) due to rust along the bottom.

Worked great for 2 car garage door
Easy replacement for the old worn/torn garage bottom seal. Luckily no real hangups removing the old one just had to slide out of the bottom channels to the side. The new Clopay seal fit perfectly into the T channels and slid in nicely to about 1/3 way before needing me to go back and forth pulling from leading edge and going back to shape the feeding end and so on. Just took some time since working alone pulling a little then going back to feed the next section from the roll. Sprayed some WD40 in the channels to help the seal slide easier, but not sure if it was even needed. If you have a 2nd person to shape/feed the roll while installing, it would be a piece of cake! (I just worked on it while everyone was out, lol). Plenty leftover, so I cut to leave an extra 2~3" on either end, then folded the 2~3" into the seal itself and it held nicely. If your old seal was worn flat like mine was, you do need to adjust the garage door opener travel setting since the new seal will have a nice ~1" bubble shape height. My door opener was making noises after initial close as it tried to crank to the old travel limit. So check out the door opener manual/online to know how to adjust the closed travel limit before replacing the seal.

Steel 'retainer' ???
Apparently this product requires a steel 'retainer' on the bottom of my garage door. Did the Home Depot product description mention this requirement. No, it did not. A total waste of money for me.

Good heavy duty bottom seal for garage door
This is the heavy duty seal to fully close the garage door. It will be difficult for Snow and Rain to enter into the garage.

The seal was very easy to use. Slide old one out and new one in. Trim to length and done. Immediate difference in garage environment as wind and cold are now blocked out.

This weatherstrip is OEM for Clopay garage doors. My garage door is 16 feet wide, so this replacement had 2 feet extra material. I used a drywall knife to cut off most of the old weatherstrip. It was time consuming to slide out the T shaped edges since several places were dented. I straightened these places before sliding in the new weatherstrip. The new weatherstrip cuts easily with a drywall knife. The entire process of removal and install took 1.5 hours. Pictures 1 and 2 are from the house inspection when we bought the house. Picture 3 shows the new weatherstrip.

I used this on a Clopay door (check the label on the door for the brand) that has two T-Tracks, each with a 5/16" inner width. It fit perfectly. It's not easy getting the old weatherseal off. The door should be raised so that the bottom of the door (where the seal is) is in the curve at the top of the vertical part of the door track (the metal track the door rolls up in). That will push the bottom edge of the door toward the outside and give you a straight shot to the seal track on the bottom of the door. It'll be difficult to remove and insert the seal if direct access is blocked by the door track. You may have to find and remove two screens that act to block the seal's movement in the track. If it's been replaced before, you may find that there are several crimps in the seal track to hold it in place. I was unable to uncrimp those. I found it difficult to slide the old seal out of the track. Part of my track was crushed and tighter than the rest of the track. I used vice grips to grab the old seal and pounded on the vice grip with a rubber mallet. I also cut off part of the leading edge of the seal because it seemed to be deformed in a way that may have made removal difficult. But I'm not sure cutting it helped. I didn't find a way to cut the part of the seal in the seal track, so that may not be a good approach. Sliding the new seal into place is easier than removal. You'll have a bit left over for a 9' door. For the excess, I evened the left and right lengths, then cut off just the T-part (the part of the seal that rides in the track). I folded the remaining excess (several inches) back under the door inside the seal. That is supposed to keep the seal from sliding out of the track. I didn't put the two screws back in or crimp the track any more than it already was. The seal does seem to give a good weatherseal.

Good price and it was easy to install. This seemed to be the only option at Home Depot, would have like one of the seals that is more solid.

I wish this was one quality up and had some filling inside , The seal catches the outside trim and pulls up while closing the doors thus leaving a small gap on the sides . On a positive note they were a good fit lengthwise and far better than my old gasket . Easy install

    10min Replacement Solo
First time to replace weatherseal on Clopay 18ft dr, so read-saw tons of doom & gloom reviews & videos, and the 'you need two people to do it' is complete nonsense. One retired person - 10min start to finish. Done! My first boss from the early '70's would've described this job as POC (Piece Of Cake). Basically- Laid new weatherseal on driveway to warm-soften, slipped old seal out. Cleaned-lubed the channels, lined up new seal & effortlessly slid length of garage door, standing in the same spot.

Took the old one off and slid the new one in. I added a little dish soap and had another person help feed it. Works fine and is as good as any. If you want something nicer you have to go commercial. So for the money this is a decent deal.

Once installed the weather seal works well by providing a tight seal between the garage door and floor. It was a little difficult to install. The old seal was much stiffer than this replacement and it pulled out of the slots easily. This seal is very soft and flexible. It required two people to install - one to form the seal into a U shape and guide it into the slots and a second to pull the seal through the slots to the end. It was not an easy task to pull the seal and one side kept coming out of the track as it was fed into the slot. With patience and effort we finally completed the installation.
