Awesome little saw. Eats the smaller BL1820 battery alive but if you use the biggest battery it works awesome.

It’s a great little saw. I was looking for something more compact, i felt my saw was overkill for those cardboard panels my wife wanted me to put in our walls. I saw this and hesitated a bit because it wasn’t brushless. Considering every new tool I’ve purchased in the last year or so has been brushless i wondered if this would perform well and have great battery life. Well it didn’t let me down. I especially like how with a smaller blade, it’s easier to correct when I’m off a tad. The 5 and 3/8th finishing blade isnt easy to come by with the correct arbor size so i purchased a milwaukee one and made a larger arbor. No big deal. I also had a slight concern with the blade being on the right. I tend to hate that. Well, after this large project i just finished, i def got used to using the guide instead of focusing on the blade AND the dust is blown AWAY from me which was a huge bonus. I currently own 4 circular saws (don’t ask me why) and this little “outdated saw” is my favorite. It also outperformed a 7 1/4 18v brushless (orange brand) one. That blew me away! Battery also outlasted a brushless (orange brand) 18v jig saw while using them on the same project. Not sure if jig saws in general use more energy, but I’m def pretty confident i got way more cuts out of this makita saw before the orange one died. I couldnt believe it

This item was returned to the store. It is a right blade saw, less useful for my needs then a left blade saw. I loved my old Makita trim saw and it was a left blade saw.

Extremely agile little saw with enough depth of cut for a 2x4. Really like how the blade stops within one second of releasing the trigger.

The good: it’s very light and being left handed I can see the blade. The bad: No one stocks 5 3/8” blades with a 5/8” arbor. I have yet to find a nice finishing blade anywhere. I’m going to try a 5 1/2” blade and hope it doesn’t destroy the plastic shield or clog the exhaust port. Do not buy this saw unless you’re ok with a 16t blade and ordering online!

I have only used this tool a couple of times, so limited experience. The only confusing thing is, if the trigger is released during a cut, the brake is activated and the blade stops, to continue cutting the safety release has to be pressed which is a bit cumbersome with one hand. It is makes a nice cut and quiet, no power cord dragging is a real plus.

This is a awesome lightweight saw. The battery life and power is incredible. I had it for about 4 weeks and I am very pleased with it.

When I open the box, the impression was it looks like a used one.Because internal paper box holder been ground out and all dust came out from it. Pros: Small size,light weight,Powerful motor. Cons: Hard to find low cost saw blade from other brand. Base plate is not stiff(wobbles). Returned it

It work great.

This saw is small and light, easy to use in challenging situations. I used it to trim the outside edge of a binding wooden gate without having to remove the gate.

This is an exceptional little saw. Does exactly as its description claims, BUT, when it comes to the rechargable lith/ion batt. Cartrige it wouldnt work! I had to (w/dremmel)modify one side of each battery slide because it prevents its use! Lame! If i already have many batts i certainly dont want purchase just one for this application! If modifying them didnt work i certainly would have returned it. Unhappily and certainly highly irritated. Lame battery prob. Makita, if every tool requires non- interchangable batteries, they become cost prohibitive for me. Except for this, its an excellent saw.
