Always used a walk behind until I purchased my latest house with 2.5 acres. This is the same spreader as the Agri-Fab. Different color period. Both made by MTD. Putting unit together was mildly challenging, but easy. More work trying to follow engineer's directions. Everything went together fine and I performed a test pull with my tractor. So far so good. Haven't used it to spread granules, yet, but it should be fine.

Very good quality, easy assembly. I love the fact that you can remove a pin from the axle for faster transport speed.

This was a pain to put together because some of the pre-assembled parts were done in a rush. There is a pin that you have to insert in one of the rims (through the axle) so that the axle is forced to turn as the cart moves, which gets the spreader to broadcast. Well I was having a very difficult time inserting that pin. I was thinking that it wasn't machined correctly and that I'd have to tap my own hole. After walking away and calming down I realized that I could losen the vertical shaft (pre assembled) to allow for the axle to move and align. Sounds simple but very easy to overlook based on how this is assembled. Viola! assembled and worked great. Built to last and the capacity is awesome.

This spreader has a huge capacity enabling you to cover a large area without re-filling. I was able to fertilize my two acres of lawn in no time at all. I would recommend this product to anyone.
