Wow, I didn't expect what I ordered to be this good. I was thinking it was cheap plastic like one...
Wow, I didn't expect what I ordered to be this good.
I was thinking it was cheap plastic like ones I had in the past... Oh no.
This is SOLID CAST IRON .. and it has a solid Plastic coating over it so as to not rust.
It weighs in at 30lbs and is not going anywhere in my Florida Hurricanes.
I was amazed at its quality, detail to plastic coating and simple setup.
* I did use Rustoleum Paint on the bottom to further protect it. At 3 $ a can and 4 coats that will extend the life of this for decades.
This is truly a great Buy, Great Quality and I highly recommend it.
It gave my Patio Furniture such a nice 'Pop' of Elegance.

What a piece of garbage. The screw nut that is attached to the pole that the adjusting screw goes into broke right off. Not even sure it was attached completely in first place.

Cannot fit a 1.5 inch pole through the plastic ring
I had to remove the plastic ring/collar to insert the umbrella pole into the base. A 1.5 inch diameter pole would not pass through the collar, which has a narrow internal diameter. Although I screwed the nut to the pole, it isn't as secure as it would be if it was slipped through a collar.
Otherwise, it's attractive and well made.
