I have used this Cover Stain for over 20 years to help clients with challenging projects with great results. The aerosol cans save time when areas are smaller and we need a smooth finish. I have run product through HVLP and airless with larger projects. It sets the foundation for a beautiful finish. Fast dry and easy to sand after filling imperfection in surfaces. Great for spot priming for raw wood spots.

This spray primer is a great way to get a smooth surface for painting. I used it for a section of cabinets that you see all the time. It could use a better spray nozzle though.

Zinsser Cover Stain Oil Base Primer is my go to spray for priming my furniture before painting. It sprays on in a nice mist spray and covers in just a couple of coats. I then sand and ready to paint any type of furniture and I feel confident that I will get solid coverage and good bonding.

Overall works for what I need since I use this for smaller wall repairs, but watch out for potential paint leaking down the can. I like the spray can style since it's much easier to use and clean up is easy. I did find that the spray head can start to leak over time and allow paint to run to pool in the top and run down the can, so be careful. I found that its spray is stronger and lasts the full can amount, rather than other brands were after a short while the paint output gets smaller and weaker even when the can is still very full.

Previous products (7 years ago) were far better atr stain covering. This product took 3 coats to cover a relatively light stain. I feel that I would have been better off by just using the Kilz which I had on hand,

A very easy way to apply the primer I needed for my raised garden project. The only problem was there could have been a bit more in the can.

Confession is good for the soul and to start reviews. I did not believe that you could get a primer, a sealer, and a cover agent in a spray can. But here it is. It does all this and does it well. Yes, it is oil-based, and ventilation is not only recommended but an absolute necessity. Buy it with confidence. Then to crown it all, the paint went on smoothly, and in the end, I had a professional finish. Five stars because it earned them.

Good product. The best to preparation of wood and to paint drywall with water stain.
