Bought this to upgrade a 12" non sliding miter saw two years ago, doesn't feel like an upgrade. With some work saw does produce excellent, accurate cuts. However there are multiple annoyances-- Dust collection is poor (even have a large Powermatic dust collector hooked up to it), Dewalt uses a 5/8 arbor but all blades come with 1" holes so you have to use a washer adapter (loose it on a job site and you're out of saw until a new one ships). Saw will cut up to about 16", but you have to take both fences off and buld up a custom 1.5 inch platform to do the cuts, otherwise 13" is about as wide as it will go. Motor is not soft start and causes the saw to jerk up. The metal angle guide is flimsy and not holding up well. The board hold down is awkward and slow to use; why no quick release? One last complaint: saw takes up a lot of real estate in a shop. Front to back is 46" with a dust hose hook up. If you MUST have a sliding miter saw-- this does do the job at a good price, but not without design flaws.

Loved it! Super accurate! :) Instructions manual is very easy to read and very detailed. Compound saw came already calibrated! I was even able to replace the blade myself with the instructions from the manual... any very entry level woodworker can operate the machine and replace parts, like the blade, very easily! This is big time important!!! I am sure you will love it! Extremely recommended!

I've wanted one of these forever, and finally ponied up the cash to get one. This is a very nice saw and had seriously increased my cutting capacity versus my old 12" non-slider. I would recommend it to anyone who's serious about wood working.

Recently upgraded from 10 inch to the 782 dewalt 12 inch. Very accurate right out of the box . Could not be happier. I'm not a professional contractor but do about $6000.00 in side jobs per year.

This Dewalt Saw is the easiest, most powerful, and accurate saw that is on the market. I am able to cut any size piece of wood without going to my table saw for larger pieces. A great saw at a terrific value and price, this product and the Home Depot Store is a fantastic combination.

When i bought this saw i was very excited thinking it was the DWS780 and it had come down in price so i was now able to afford it. Once i got it back to the job site i started looking at the features etc and noticed it was missing the work light so i figured i would just put one on. Not able to do so. The only difference between the 780 and the 782 is the 782 is not wired for a work light and comes with a blade that has less teeth then the 780. The DWS782 that i purchased ended up breaking about 2 days after i got it. RPM's got very low and oil started leaking out. I returned it and had to get the 780 because there was not a 782 within driving distance. In my opinion $200 is not worth a fine tooth blade and a work light on the saw.

Easy set-up and great cuts right out of the box. Been working with a 15 year old Craftsman that still works great but wanted the 12" double compound. Found this one being cleared out at my local Home Depot for $200.

This piece of machinery is great. I have used several times and it is very accurate. Best of all, I only paid $180 on clearance.

I wasted my time and money buying a Ryobi sliding miter saw that was used for a year. I decided to spend the additional money to buy the quaility that comes with a DEWALT product. From the first cut I have not been dissapointed. It is well worth the money and I now only buy DEWALT because of the quality.

The special purchase price of $399. was the best price I have seen for this saw. I have been on the fence on the purchase for years, but never had the need to spend $500+, the sale price is what got me to make the decision to buy it. This will take the place of a 10 inch makita, that I could never adjust the fence correctly. I have not put the saw into heavy use yet, but do have accurate cuts.

I've used the higher end Dewalt miter saw that runs around $600 and I can honestly say that I couldn't tell any major difference from this saw to that one. Incredible value here and in my experience so far (have used the saw for 2 months on to to crown molding as well as custom made cabinets) the saw is of very high quality, exactly what I expect from Dewalt. Can't go wrong with this one, I would recommend it to anyone.

Right of the box it was flush, square and accurate can't ask for more than that and I saved money to boot

This is an awesome saw. It has every capability, is durable, and easy to use. Changing the saw cuts can be done quickly and precisely. This is not an "off-the-shelf" product. It feels more like custom-made. I have now used the product non-stop in the remodeling of my kitchen. It was worth every penny.

Use this saw every day building cabinets and trimming homes. It hasn't missed a beat, accurate out of box. The stock blade is good for framing and decks, install at least an 80 tooth for finish work. Dust collection is super compared to previous models and most other saws. It's heavy because it is built well. The comment about kicking breakers idk, I have run this saw many times with a temporary power cord up to 150' 12ga down to a 14ga cord no problems at all. Overall this is the best sliding saw for the price currently on the market.

I paid $399 for a saw that normally sells for $599 only difference is a few extras that I don't really need.

Very robust and versatile. Solid and accurate. Ready to go out of the box.

I love dewalt products there are no others that come close to the quality I can't say it enough I love dewalt it does all I need it to do it's worth the money and it will last

Good price and did not realize what I have been missing in a tool until I now!!

Upgraded my 12 inch (non slider), 5 year old Ridgid, to this saw. Loved the Ridgid, and I am still having some sellers remorse, however Im looking foward to giving this saw a chance. It does seem to be very square out of the box. The fence seems to be a litter shorter than my older Ridgid and the deck seems to be alot smaller, but I dont think this will be a huge issue. The fence may be a little too short for larger crown but it could always be modified. So far the cuts are true and accurate. The weight seems to be comparable to my Ridgid and the built in carrying handles on the base are nice. The saw compacts nicely when locked down for storage. Paid $399 for the saw on a black Friday deal so it seemed like the time to upgrade. I have only owned the saw for a couple of weeks so time will tell.

Picking up the miter saw was convenient. Saw was easy to assemble and ready to use.

the drill is as expected, very powerful and does an excellent job

the saw is of very high quality it can cut very wide crown molding very accurately out of the box it is a very good investment

This saw is fantastic, accurate, and tough. The only thing missing is a laser guide.

For doing more jobs you need good saw- Dewalt it's the one

I had never purchased a miter saw before but have wanted and needed one around the house for various projects I need to complete. So when this model went on sale I jumped on it and so far am very happy with it. I have already built a large dog house with it and have plans to work on my deck and install some hardwood floors! So far it cuts accurately and it fits perfectly in my Jaw horse work stand, so I didn't have to buy a stand for it.

Bought this saw a week ago and have had nothing but problems. It keeps tripping my 20 amp breaker in my garage to I took it back got another one and it is doing the same. So I thought I had a problem with my breaker so I took to my brothers house that was just built and plugged into his 30 amp breaker he runs his woodburner off of (yes we unpluged the woodburner) and tripped that one right away. I love dewalt but not this saw.

So far so good. Bought the saw recently for door molding and floor trimolding. Cuts are very accurate and plenty of power. It is heavy but it is a twelve inch saw so that's to be expected.
