It’s very quiet - much quieter than the 2004 Kenmore it replaced and I like that magnets stick to it, which the last one did not. The inside light is nice and bright. The compressor kicks on very infrequently and it is an energy miser. There’s an extra inch of insulation thickness in the doors and walls. The only thing I didn’t like was that the door gaskets were very stiff at first and took a little “breaking in” to fit right. Once that occurred, it got very quiet. Will buy another for the camp house!!

I need a new Refrigerator this needs to be cleaned and everything needs to be brand new . I need help with this .

It keeps my food cold until the ice forms on the freezer coils ,then not so much. I did not buy this it is provided by my landlord. I would replace it if I could. It takes 7 months to build up ice to where the fan starts to make noise telling me its time to defrost.

Fridge has been good. I have just been unable to find a replacement condenser fan as it has started to make some funky noises after having it for a number of years. The spec sheet on the back shows a replacement part number as WR60X20871 but I have not been able to find a replacement part online

Good fridge for the money I guess. At first I thought I was delivered the wrong fridge. I order a Energy Star GTE16DTHWW and got a GTE16DTHMRWW. I hope they're both the same. The fridge itself is very noisy and even rattles when cooling like something is mechanically loose. Even when the fridge is full. The only suggestion I have from an engineering standpoint is to make the top shelf so it can be reversed if needed. The way the shelf holders are on the side, there is only one safe way to have the high and low side. I have it reversed because of fridge location and handicap accessibility for a family member.

Hi decided to update my kitchen thinking that I would get a better product than I had. Unfortunately not even three months after I purchased it the plastic elements inside the refrigerator started to crack. I’m not so sure if this is due to the cold temperature inside but definitely there’s something wrong with this product. I had to replace the tracks that hold the bins as well as the door modules. They are not covered under guarantee . I will never buy this product again.

GE Fridges are great looking and of good quality. They last for many years without problems. The external surface is scratch proof and non corrosive. The Energy usage is low.

I bought a couple months ago and love it and just the right size.

We bought this fridge recently and one of the biggest highlight is the energy saving features it has. I also like the simple yet sleek design on the inside where the top shelf has half of the sections raised to facilitate taller bottles etc. without raising the entire shelf. The vegetable /fruit storage area at the bottom also has a nice and simple slide gage that helps food to maintain freshness for a longer period. Overall if you're going for a simple a classic buy with not too many frills, this is the one for you.

It's been several months now and I couldn't be more pleased. Just what I needed, it stores more than you can imagine.

This compact freezer refrigerator is a perfect addition to our small kitchen....It was well thought out and there is more than enough room inside to meet our needs. Very quiet...easy to clean.....looks GREAT!

We had a very specific space for the refrigerator. This fit that space perfectly and had the features we needed. We are very pleased with our purchase!

Beautiful fridge. It fits very well in our galley kitchen. I cook most nights and we always have enough space for leftovers. My one complaint is you have to open the door a full 120 degrees to get in the bottom right veggie drawer. Otherwise a great fridge!

This fridge is beautiful and small enough to fit in my tight space. Happy that they make them this small and effective. I love it.

I received my new refrigerator today and am extremely happy with it!

I bought my GE 15.5 cu ft refrigerator about 6 weeks ago. I previously had a GE 18.2 cu ft J Series. My refrigerator had to be a specific size to fit in it's space. When I purchased the J Series 20+ years ago I didn't think I'd have a size issue. The new GE is an improved version. Due to the brilliant design to be energy saving, I still have as much or more internal area as the previous 18 cu ft. fridge. My electric bill was $30 lower too. Food stays fresher longer. The freezer works amazingly better. The optional ice maker is a must! It is a better design and takes up little space, plus I can turn it off easily when I don't need it. The only slight negative is that the front doors are much thicker(energy efficient) so I had to learn to stay ducked a bit longer so as not to hit my head. I still like the black finish and didn't want the sterile feel of stainless (don't mean to offend anyone) I love my new GE Fridge!

I am not sure if I would recommend this or not. I just got it today. It looks nice, lots of room, good size shelves. My two biggest complaints are the noise and the smell. The smell is so bad it gave me a headache. I've put baking soda in the fridge and the freezer. I also have candles burning in the kitchen hoping this helps. The noise is louder than my 20 year old refrigerator was. Also The front lower right hand corner under the door there are three holes. One of the holes has a screw in it the other two do not . I believe there are supposed to be screws in all three holes.

Has enough storage in both sections with deep shelves... I've had it for 3 years now.... problem free so far...

we replaced our old garage fridge that died. We're happy with our new fridge so far. no complaints. it's pretty quiet, sometimes i have to make sure it's on. I like the size because it doenst take up too much room in the garage. It's just what we needed to hold extra groceries and extra foods for the holidays.

I bought this refrigerator mainly for it's efficiency rating (Energy Star version of course), with an Energy Guide rating of 344kWh, one of the best around. No fancy, energy hogging French Door refrigerator for me. I found this GE to be a nice size for that efficiency rating. There are some smaller refrigerators that aren't this efficient! I have been using it for about 2 weeks, so far I am very happy. I don't have any complaints about the sound being loud as some have noted. It makes normal refrigerator sounds if you ask me. Maybe it doesn't purr like a refrigerator that costs two or three times as much but I don't sleep next to it either so it's no big deal. If you want to get technical, I used my digital sound level meter to get some readings (A weighted). The silent parts of my house measured 37dB. Standing in front of my refrigerator at 1 meter with the compressor running I measured 43dB. That's only a 6dB increase. I found that the included wire shelving was a little too "retro" for me and didn't find any benefit from the "Z" shaped top shelf. I have become accustomed to the glass shelving found in the majority of refrigerators these days. Also the wire shelving doesn't give good stability when it comes to things like setting a glass of liquid on it. So I ordered the factory glass shelves from GE's stainless steel version of this refrigerator. A simple mod, they fit perfect and I am really happy! One of the other things I really love about this refrigerator are the exterior grab handles, it's another feature I was specifically looking for. This goes back to the days when I was a kid. I remember this type of handle makes life easy because you can grab the lower handle then with your thumb, press on the upper handle for leverage to open the lower door. Such a simple concept that is not used often enough these days. The coldness of the refrigerator has been working excellent as well. I read some reviews saying it didn't get cold enough or the freezer didn't freeze good enough. I wasn't sure when I first got it so I turned up the coldness a bit past the "recommended" dot on the dial just to start out. But I had to turn it back down because I noticed just a tiny bit of icing in my can of black olives in the refrigerator. So for me I have found the "recommended" setting to work perfect. The freezer also works great, it has taught me I can live without having a power hungry ice maker. Of course you can add an ice maker to this refrigerator as an option but my recommendation is to read on the internet why an ice maker is a super big energy HOG! I use a couple silicon ice cube trays and an ice bin purchased at Target. Works awesome. I ate from a pint of ice cream and it was at the correct level of hardness, or "frozen-ness?". Was a little difficult to get a scoop out with a spoon without letting it thaw a little. So definitely no freezer problems here! Oh, one more feature that I love and was looking for is ample storage in the refrigerator door. It easily holds gallon sized containers on the top AND bottom shelves. Overall I am very happy with this refrigerator, yes it has met my expectations for sure. I am glad I didn't have to settle on a much smaller refrigerator in order to get a very good efficiency rating.

We previously owned a 10 year old 18 cubic foot GE refrigerator that had been an excellent refrigerator, in fact it still worked fine. But over the years there were some dents on the front of the door and some interior pieces that had broken. So we decided after much research to replace it with this 15.5 cubic foot GE. We choose this specific model because I prefer wire shelves over glass. I think that the air circulates better and the food cools more quickly. I ordered an extra shelf and kept the snack drawer from the old GE. I placed the snack drawer on a shelf and it actually is more convenient this way. With the third shelf there is just as much storage room and maybe even more than I had in the 18 cubic foot GE. Within 2 hours after the new refrigerator was plugged in the food storage compartment was already cooled to 35 degrees and the freezer was at 0 degrees. I really love this refrigerator. We have a small kitchen and I didn't want a big box sticking out into the kitchen and with the recessed handles it has a sleek appearance.

I purchased this fridge to replace an older model that was slowly dying. I needed a compact fridge size that maximized the space inside. I love that this ine has a two-tied shelf that allows for storage of high items as well as in door storage for milk and soda bottles. I would have liked a meat and cheese drawer but understand that would have taken up unnecessary space. The freezer is perfectly sized for a small family and easily fits larger items. I choose the Energy Star model as they state it only uses $41 a year in electricity so I guess I will see in my electric bills.

We purchased this as a second refrigerator for our garage and it is the perfect size. it was very easy to switch the door handles from one side to the other. Both the upper and lower doors close solidly, which was a problem with the smaller refrigerator we replaced.
