Instant upgrade! ! I wish I had known about this when I first replaced my range, I'd have done it years ago. My perfectly serviceable range vent was a mismatched and outdated almond color, until I painted it to look like stainless steel. Just follow the directions, use light strokes with each coat & alternate direction with each newly dried coat. Don't let drips dry & apply painters tape over the knob plate as best you can prior to painting. Do as many light coats as you need for complete coverage. It took me 6 light coats of the base.Take your time and let each coat dry thoroughly, this is especially true of the top coat. I keep the vent light on all the time and it really looks like stainless steel. This has made such a wonderful difference in the overall look of my kitchen, and for only a fraction of the cost of replacing and installing a new vent.

Impressed
Unable to buy an appliance package deal due to the height and width of the location of my fridge. Which, the fridge alone is driving cost up. I opted to use this product on my range after reading reviews here. I got a great deal on a above range microwave oven stainless steel and black and I wanted it to match. The paint applies beautifully. I used the foam brush to apply the first coat then rolled the remaining three with a 4” foam roller and did three coats of clear coat. I am impressed and it’s bought me some time on one of my newer appliances in the home. I am in the process of updating the kitchen and couldn’t be happier that I took the time to research this product. I now have the go ahead to install the microwave oven. Thanks for such a great product from a single woman on a budget!

It took me ALOT of coats but eventually did get the desirable color. I do recommend stirring the paint EVERYTIME prior to dipping your brush. Unfortunately I was only stirring it every 2-3 times in the beginning.

This stainless steel paint made my dishwasher look like I had replaced the dishwasher door. It turned out beautiful with the base coat going on first. I put on 7 light base coats and one top coat and it turned my biscuit dishwasher into a beautiful stainless steel unit. I was truly satisfied with the results.

Easy to apply. Gave dishwasher 5 coats of base, 2 of top coat. Waited 1 hour between base coats. Looks awful after 1st coat, but fills in with each additional coat. This product saved me from buying a $500 dishwasher.

For $25, it was worth a try. Before using, I took the handle and doors off the oven and loosened the controls on the dishwasher to make it easier to paint this on. It definitely made it easier. I did 6-7 coats of the liquid stainless and 4 coats of the topcoat. I takes a bit of work to make it look good. It ended up a little streaky, but I think that was because of the brush. More than one should be provided. For 2 coats the brush was fine, but with the third coat, it started making it look sloppy. I ended up going to the store to buy more brushes. Overall, for the price its about what I expected. It doesn't completely look like real stainless steel but passable enough. Take your time and do more coats than what the directions say. Even after doing the front of the oven and dishwasher with more coats than it says, I still have about 1/3 of the little can left.

I got this paint two years ago when we were redoing our kitchen. Our almond colored fridge worked fine and I figured I could save a few bucks to paint it so it would work with my stainless microwave and black stove. YES, I will agree with reviewers that said it was harder to apply than average paint. YES, it takes more than three coats. I bought this smaller kit and only did the door of my fridge, which saved me more bucks. I painted the sides with a hammered metallic charcoal rustoleum product that was a lot easier to apply. It did NOT match my stainless microwave perfectly because the fridge's texture made it have less sheen. They were far enough apart that it worked. Our kitchen rocks... for real. My sponge brush strokes went from top going down, feathering off past middle, overlapping the ones starting on the bottom going up, feathering off past middle. A fridge door is too long for me to keep the brush wet from top to bottom. If you look really hard, you can see faint brush marks on the right door. I was OK with it and the only one that noticed even if I pointed it out. I bought film to darken the almond control panel but didn't use it. I also never painted any part of the almond water dispenser parts. My fridge was too old to order black dispenser trim and handles so I spray painted them black while they were off. I saw one reviewer that said they prefer this stainless painted surface to actual stainless and I agree. It was really durable and never showed fingerprints. I just ordered a new fridge because my painted fridge needed ANOTHER repair. I hate leaving my paint job go and if it wasn't economically stupid, I would keep it.

Used this product for a non-traditional application, simulating a spun metal finish on molded and 3D printed ABS parts for an R2 astromech project. Finish looks great, but has a tendency to pool / drip in corners, requires light touch-up during application. Adhesion was actually better without primer, lightly sanding the bare ABS first.

So glad my husband found this on your website! It exceeded our expectations! I was a little leary about it before I started, but, the the instructions were so easy and to the point. Now our old stove matches the other appliances and we are tickled! Well worth the price and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to update the appearance of their appliances. We live our "new" stove!

Good way to update appliances on a budget. I used this paint on wood panel inserts on front of refrigerator. Close up you can tell it's not real stainless steel, but from a few feet away it looks pretty darn good.

I was a little hesitant to try it, but it came out really good. Follow the directions precisely and take your time. I went to the store and photographed my refrigerator in the stainless version and tried to match it for a realistic look ... only used stainless on what they use stainless on, I painted the gray parts gray, etc. I think it's a good option if you're in the process of switching to stainless and not ready to buy all at once.

It's a good product and worked well although it was difficult to carry the paint clear across the appliance door with one load of paint and one continuous stroke. I painted my trash compactor and that is not nearly as wide as most appliance doors. It covered the plastic part at the top like a dream so I also carefully painted the face of my kitchen intercom and it looks great too. I got better results using one of my large artists brushes than I did using the sponge brush included with the kit. You need to plan on a minimum of 4 applications. The painted items are not right next to my real stainless appliances - the trash compactor is the only thing under the island so far enough away that I don't think anyone would even question whether or not it was stainless. It doesn't look perfect but all in all I'm happy with it and would certainly do it again.

We did our white dishwasher. Very easy to use. We used a 4 inch felt roller instead of the sponge brush. READ and do exactly as the directions tell you!!! Make sure you go over overlap lines lightly at the end so you can not see the lines. Took 4 coats to get a good coverage. MUST do light coats and MUST do the recommended dry times. You can not do the control panels. They recommend you put cling on film over it to make it match. We just bought the new piece with the controls in black and replaced that part. Does look more silver than stainless but close enough that it matchs the stainless fridge and stove.

didn't work too well for me
where to start? I painted a dishwasher and range hood. I was worried about dripping so I did very light base coats. Ended up doing over a dozen. Still ended up with foam marks that look like paint brush marks. Paint is much more silvery than stainless steel. Maybe I didn't stir the paint enough? Guess it looks better than the white appliances but, again, nowhere near actual stainless steel so if you're really picky, forget it.

Works like a charm on brass fixtures
I was looking for paint I could brush on a brass light fixture and a ceiling fan to give them the look of brushed nickel without removing either of them from the ceiling, and saw this paint could also be used on brass. As others have mentioned, it does take some time to complete the process since I needed four coats of the stainless base, plus one coat of the clear sealer (included) to get the look I wanted. Masked off the ceiling around the fixtures, lightly sanded everything to rough up the surface a bit, then took about 10-15 minutes to brush on each coat (I painted the disassembled blades and light finial on the ground) with an hour between coats. They recommend letting the final coat dry for 2 hours before the first top coat of the clear sealer, but I let it dry overnight just to be sure. I also painted a brass light switch plate, and kind of wished I had even more brass to paint since it turned out just the way I hoped it would. Despite the small cans, I have more than half the base coat and almost all of the top coat remaining for other projects.

              Loved the results!
The process was easy and the results are amazing. My home appraiser thought they were new appliances. The stove top was the most challenging because the surface isn't flat and the original white paint took more coats to cover completely. It took about two days to paint and top coat both appliances. I couldn't be happier with the results and for only $30! Wow!!

              It works
I bought a house last year with old appliances. I have been slowly updating. This year I bought a range. I did not want to buy a new hood because I eventually want to get new cabinets and have an over the range microwave. This product did a good job making my hood match my range. I do want to warn though, you will need to do many coats. I would say I did around 20. This was a 2 day project. I used two top coats also.

              Really nice results
This product is amazing. you have to clean your appliances really good, first with soap then with window cleaner unless it is metal. I have painted my Microwave, Stove (and knobs) and dishwasher. You can see the before and after pics (before the appliances were black). You have to follow the instructions VERY carefully. Cover the floor around the appliances when painting. Wait at least 1 hour before the next coat! You have to be patient. On the microwave and stove I needed 3 base coats. On the dishwasher I needed 5 coats. But there is still half of the paint left. Really good results, if you don't tell anyone, they would not recognize that it is not stainless steel.
