Forgiving
This spray paint is the most forgiving spray paint that I've ever used. Spray progressively heavier coats, by the 3rd coat its almost impossible to make a mistake. The new spray tip with 5 settings is a tremendous invention. I can't be happier with this product. * This review is assuming that the paint holds up and stays looking nice like Rustoleum paint typically does.

    Best for DIY!!!
This stuff is on point 😤 A little hard to get used to if you have never sprayed with rattle cans, but it gets the job done!

          Good color
Good color but I didn't like this enamel, and I ended up using A paint and Primer spray instead. My problem was trying to spray the enamel over a primer to begin with. It didn't work and bubbled up and started cracking every where, really looked bad. Maybe that was on me because I used to different sprays, I don't know. But this didn't work for me.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experinece! When applying Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Protective Enamel Spray Paint over a new paint or primer application, it is essential that you are checking the recoat time for that paint or primer. Most of our sprays need to be recoated within 1 hour or after 48 hours. If you sand before applying a new coat, we recommend waiting another 48 hours. This is done to prevent wrinkling, which sounds like what you experienced.

It took many more cans of paint than I thought...
It took many more cans of paint than I thought it would to cover the green on an artificial Christmas tree. I used three colors to make a Candy Corn Tree and for a 6 ft. tree it took over 20 cans of paint. Lesson learned - should have bought a white tree. Not sure it was the paint's fault, maybe just the project was too difficult.

Thank you for sharing your experience. If applying Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Protective Enamel Paint over a contrasting color, or going from a darker color to a lighter one, we do recommend the use of a primer to help with coverage. Please keep in mind, surfaces with a lot of open spaces will also need more paint because of the amount of overspray likely to occur.

Let's talk about this, Michael! To ensure full adhesion of Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Clear Enamel Spray, it is essential that bare metal is lightly sanded to create a surface profile. Please keep in mind, this coating will take at least 7 days to fully cure in ideal conditions. After this point, the coating has reached full hardness and adhesion. We recommend avoiding scratching or abrading the surface before that point.

I recently painted a piece of outdoor furniture with a brush. Afterwards, I noticed I missed some spots.that the brush couldn't reach. Thankfully I went over it with this spray and am very satisfied with the outcome .

          Wrinkles
If the first coat isn't completely dry (48 hours?) the second coat will wrinkle. Such a bad product.

          Response from Rust-OleumSupportMay 25, 2022
Thank you for reaching out, Bob. Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Protective Enamel Spray Paint needs to be recoated within 1 hour of the previous coat or after 48 hours has passed. If you recoat before the first application of paint has skinned over and begun to dry to the touch, the two coats will dry correctly. However, if recoated at the wrong time, it may wrinkle blister or crack, which sounds like what you are experiencing. Simply put, to apply a second coat, the first coat must be very dry or very wet - never in between. To fix this, try sanding the surface, wait 48 hours and apply again.
