This is actually the third Makita cordless I have bought. The first was the old 9V, I bought it because we had been using them where I worked for many years. They were the most reliable the company had found. I used my 9V model for over 10 years with no problems. I upgraded to the new model this past summer and found it not only "as good" but much improved. When my daughter bought her house, I decided this model woul be perfect for her use

Bought for around the house. I won't go back to drills with the "normal" bits. As for the person that said Makita didn't have enough info stating this drill has a hex base... It's called a cordless hex driver.

Wish the info on this drill made it clearer that it will not work with normal drill bits. Only with drill bits that have a hex base. The shape and size are nice, to bad it's not an adjustable chuck.

bought this drill driver to replace my old Ryobi 18V...Right out of the box I was completely impressed with it's amount of torque and it's smaller size gets in some tighter places than my old drill driver. It has a very handy LED light that comes on at the pull of the trigger and shuts off after a few seconds. A nice durable high impact plastic case, 2nd battery, charger, and holster all come with it...a great value and amazing LONG battery life.

This is a versatile tool and has long life between battery changes.
