Customer Reviews for Bosch 12 Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Electric 1/4 in. Hex 2-Speed Pocket Driver (Tool-Only)

I do HVAC work. This driver is great for every day service work. Is very light and powerful enough for most tasks. Only when I have to drill larger holes I go to my 18V drills. I had the PS21 for 4 years, drooped it off roofs many times and I lost it. that is when I bought the PS22. The extra power is welcomed . I have this one for about 3 years. I dropped it off ladders, 30 feet of roofs, had it rained on, dropped it in water you name it. Drill is still running. After it got soaked the trigger switch does't work all the time but all it takes is for me to take the battery out and reinsert it. It happens randomly, from several times a day to once a month. Other brands offer more power with the 12V drivers but every time I try one I run back to my Bosch PS22. The ergonomics, side hook, light weight, trigger control (when it works, in my case) and durability is hard to beat. The bit holder is pretty much useless, but they all are so I would not hold that against the tool.

I bought a month ago and I am happy with this product!

I feel that Bosch is committed to both quality of their products and have displayed equal functionality to storage with the L-Boxx series. The PS22 is a great tool with several improvements over previous models such as brushless motors, onboard bit storage and the included belt clip. Absolutely impressive and useful. The huge downside to this tool is the advertised picture of the included insert for the L-Boxx 1. Instead of the pictured insert you will receive the generic drill insert that has the battery and charger spaces...NOT the one that has the rectangle spaces next to the driver as pictured in every ad on every web site for this product including Bosch's own site. I contacted Bosch and they showed no interest in correcting this mistake...they simply put the generic drill insert in all the boxes and you will end up with TWO charger/drill inserts in each L-Boxx and will have no way to change that through Bosch customer service. Very disappointed after spending so much time and resources to their storage system and line of tools. Just be warned...50% of my decision to purchase this tool was for the storage.

Details I Like about this Product: -Lightweight -Durable plastic housing with excellent ergonomics -Belt Clip & Bit Tip Holder is convenient -Operating the drill at variable speeds is smooth and a joy! -EC Brushless motor is efficient and powerful with low temperatures and long run times -Light and Battery indicator are very helpful -Adjustable Clutch, Gear Shifter & Forward/Reverse Lever have reassuring positive action Details I feel this product can improve on: -The Locking Sleeve is designed so that 1" insert bits fit very snug and secure. However, Power-Bits and the included bit holder do not fit as snug and secure as the retaining ball within the sleeve is small and on one corner. I am not completely satisfied with the fit that bit holders and extensions have when inserted into this 1/4 hex chuck.

I was AMAZED at how much torque and power this little guy has!! I also own the previous model and I loved that but there's no comparison between the to! The new brushless version has more torque and the battery life is outstanding!! I'm not sure exactly but I would say the battery runtime is almost double!!! Last but not least because of it's size and weight you can use it in really tight spaces with all the torque you'll need to tackle almost any job, and it's also light as a feather so you arm won't get fatigued if you're using it for long periods of time.So in short this little guy really really really packs a punch!!!
