I Borrowed my father in law’s cutter and it was amazing. I had been cutting and lifting sod with a sturdy fork. When I picked up this tool it was a breeze, a real pleasure, way too easy to edge, cut and lift sod. I’ve got to get one of these for regular yard work, edging.

This product works well if.... The item came with a square edge. I manually sharpened and shaped it. If the item were 4" wider would also be great. The handle seems week compared to other handled yaes tools I have. We will see how long this lasts but for now it's doing its job that I sharpened it.

Disappointed with the size of the blade

It's probably me but the sod lifter does not get under the sod easy enough. Also the back of the blade really cuts into your shoe. I'm old and probably not strong enough to use it.

Works good but you need a wood block for leverage but works good at getting grass out

You need to kneel or bend down quit a ways to get the cutting edge level under turf. Then you need to use just arm strength to push under. The tool needs to be sharpened before it is even useful. The angle bend in the handle should be increased from 30 or so degrees to 45. It should have a crossbar about 3” up from the bend with step/stomp plates so you can kick/stomp it under yhe turf. With these improvements it would probably work for most folks. As it is, you have to really be willing to get an upper body workout to cut the turf out. Well constructed and sturdy. Was hoping for something more useable than my square digging spade. This could be better with some modifications.

Handle too long and it’s too heavy to maneuver under sod to use as advertised.

Works well for what it is intended to do: lift sod. It is not made to cut sod and it does a very poor job of it. I used an electric edge trimmer set to a depth of 1.5-inches to cut the sod into 12-inch wide strips. I then used the Sod Lifter to lift of the edges of the sod. I could remove long sections of sod by sliding the Lifter under the end of a strip of sod, push down on the Lifer then push up and move to the next section.

Far easier than using a shovel, but it takes a little use to develop your technique.

Made lifting sections of sod very easy and neat so the sod could be put back down after completing some sprinkler head repairs. Highly recommend.

Bully continues to impress with the quality and durability of their tools.

The only downside, if any, is that I could only get it online and NOT in my local store.

Durable. Length is good. Angle of spade could be more. Be ready for sore arms and back. Trying to figure out if it’s easier with lawn already dead or still green.

handle needs to have a sharper bend upward so you don't have to bend clear down to the ground. I made that modification toll works good.

Fantastic tool, worked extremely well for what we needed. Just hope they attach your mailing label better than mine. Mine was delayed by 3+ days because the label was unreadable and had to make a new label.

The Bully Tool was as advertised. It was sharp cutting through the grass. The curvature of the handle made it to lift up the sod and remove it.

Have used it once and worked as expected. The important thing about these types of tools is longevity and doubt I'll reveiw on that.

My new sod lifter is light weight, yet strong. Sure to provide many years of sweat and sore back.

There's several better options.

The tool performed exactly as it was supposed to, cut and lifted the sod. Make no no mistake, this is an old school tool. If you wanted fast or easy, don’t buy one of these it may be cordless but it’s not battery powered or remote control . Blisters, sweat , and pain will be involved.
