Questionable!
I had purchased this coffee maker after reading about it in C.R. which had rated it #2. I have decided that it is an O.K. coffee maker because of #1:The coffee carafe drips off the spout and runs on the counter while pouring and the lid does not come off for easier cleaning. #2:The water fill tank is too hard to pour into because the openings are too small and too far in the back ! #3:The face of the machine where the digital face and clock are, fogs up from moisture when brewing! Very well made but it could have been designed a lot better for every day use!!!!!!!!!!!

Do Not Purchase this Coffee Maker
I purchased the Kalorik Programmable Stainless Steel Coffee Maker (12 Cup) in April, 2014--barely two months ago. I chose to purchase the product based on a review I'd read in a consumer magazine. After a few weeks, I felt pleased well enough with the coffee maker that I finally set its packaging out with the recycling. Two days ago, barely two months after I received the coffee maker, it stopped working, mid cycle, and it has not worked since. The light comes on, but it does not heat and pump the water and brew the coffee. The hot plate itself remains cool. Since I had my last coffee maker for years before it began to malfunction, I'm feeling rather disgusted with this coffee maker right now, and disappointed in its recommendation. The failure of the product is quite frankly astounding and all the more inexcusable when one considers that coffee maker technology is how old? We’ve been producing these devices for decades with the same basic function. That Kalorik cannot manage to produce a very basic machine to function reliably is enough to warn any wary consumer off any other product they manufacture. Consider yourself warned.

Bad smell that did not go away
Bought this based on the Consumer Reports ranking, and followed the direction to do three cycles with water only to rinse the machine, but the coffee maker emitted an odor of melting plastic from the start. Used it for 10 days thinking the smell would go away but it did not. Odor was strong enough that one could smell it in half the house. Smell was much stronger after the brew cycle finished when just the hotplate was on. Returned it to the store with no troubles (and no box!). Not a great product.
