I have been working on projects for my daughter's wedding and copper is one of her primary colors for decorating. I researched the best copper paints to use. I ordered the package of 6 Rust-Oleum Speciality paints to use on all of the products. Without hesitation I must say this paint in truly outstanding. It was easy to apply and delivered the color and sheen of PURE COPPER. I painted a metal easel and glass jars that will be used as centerpieces. I would highly recommend this product if the user wants the real look of copper.

5 stars are not enough!
I have bought and used many different spray paints for many different projects, and this is the first one that’s ever intimidated me. I really wanted a metallic gold paint that didn’t have the typical matte looking finish. When I saw the reflective gold color on the cap, I really thought it was way too good to be true and there was NO WAY it would actually come out that shiny gold color, especially for less than $4. I thought it was worth a try, so I grabbed it and a can of the typical metallic matte gold paint just incase it didn’t work out. Not only did it come out a perfect shiny and reflective gold exactly like I wanted, it was the easiest paint I have ever used. It is ALMOST impossible to get any drips. I did push my luck and l got too close when painting one of the vanity legs that had an imperfection in the wood that I was too lazy to fill and sand down correctly. I did a quick wipe on the small drip and immediately sprayed a thinner coat on that section and all was well. I am beyond happy with the overall results of this product and I love the color so much that I went back the next day to buy a few more cans to have on hand for future projects. I will say it is not exactly the color on the cap. Since my project was wood, it may have cut down on how reflective it looks, maybe if it was used on glass or metal it would be closer to the cap color. If you have realistic expectations you will be very pleased with this paint.

I purchased the 1915830 Metallic Silver paint thinking it would provide a, "Bright Reflective Finish" as described on the label. However, what I received was a dull lackluster gray finish. I thought I would give RUST-OLEUM another shot, mainly because there isn't much competition in the metallic spray paint industry and I'm glad I did. If you are looking for a nice reflective silver or chrome finish, use product 7718 Chrome from RUST-OLEUM. It's the same price, but a much better product. I don't recommend this product unless you are looking for a dull gray finish.

That is odd! Uneven gloss levels or streaking can be attributed to a couple of things. If you are not shaking the can vigorously enough or holding the can too close to the surface while spraying. Rust-Oleum Specialty Metallic Spray should be held 10 to 16 inches from the surface. Spray in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Be sure to keep the can the same distance from the surface and keep the can in motion while spraying. Apply 2 or more light coats a few minutes apart to avoid drips and runs. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 5 Rustoleum

      Am I doing it wrong?
I primed some jar lids with a gray rustoleum primer. The primer seemed to work just fine, but this gold metallic seems to separate and is really streaky. this is just the first coat in the picture. hopefully more coats will fix it. I followed directions on both the primer and metallic.

Hmm, something is amiss here. Please keep in mind that the conditions can affect the dry time of the primer. Make sure to allow more time at cooler temperatures. A thicker coating application can extend the dry time as well. Rustoleum

Excellent spray on paint that dries fast!
This Rust-Oleum Gold spray paint is fantastic, great color, dries fast, and looks really nice on the object spray painted. It sprays evenly and dried very quickly on metal objects. It did not drip (do make a light spray and not spray too much at once) and looks like it is part of the object, not a coat sprayed on. My daughter uses it in her Wedding business and she just fell in love with it. There ya go!

I give Rust-Oleum Metallic Gold Spray Paint 5 stars and would recommend to anyone in need of a shimmering metallic finish on wood. I purchased this paint for a custom Bluetooth speaker made from a Dapper Cigar Co. cigar box. The order came from a staff member of a University of Notre Dame sports team. The Rust-oleum gold paint was used along with a Rust-oleum blue paint to match a major university's colors used in the university's emblem. This metallic gold spray paint truly mimics metal and in this case gold. However, the metallic paint is very thin and not as viscous as a typical paint. The object that you are painting with this metallic paint, must be without flaws, i.e., scratches, pits, abrasions, burn marks, etc. Even if your object is without flaw, irregularities, such as wood grain, will affect the outcome of the paint. Since the paint is very thin, it will fill every nook and cranny, but not fill in the voids, e.g., wood grain, scratches, pits, etc. I made a test run on the plywood and aluminum I would be using and after several practice runs, I still had to fabricate my custom pieces several times and repaint because the slightest flaw was magnified by the paint. To get by this, I sprayed the paint on a paper plate and my daughter hand painted the school emblem, and I hand painted my fabricated wood piece. The paint dries fast, so you have to work fast and/or spray new paint on the paper plat frequently to keep pace with the drying factor. Even though this is difficult to work with, I don't think their is a way around it and is worth the outcome if done correctly. After spray painting a fabricated wood object, it was difficult to tell that the wood object wasn't a gold metal. The paint covers well and doesn't require a lot of paint to cover the surface. You must follow the directions carefully and holding the can away from the object the correct distance. I have plenty left and will use it again and when I run out I will buy it again.

        Great for Home DIY
Not super sure how this compares to other metallic/gold colored spray paints but with a primer coat underneath, this gives a beautiful color for a fairly inexpensive price. Works great on different mediums from plastic to metal and I would definitely purchase this again for future projects.

        Great product for crafting!
I used this spray paint to paint wine bottles to use as vases for a party I was hosting. I was easily able to cover the bottles in 1-2 coats. The result was superb and looked very sharp. This is a metallic gold and really had a good shine and sparkle to it! I was able to cover 9 wine bottles, a small glass liquor bottle and a 12x12" canvas, and I had about half a can left! My only complaint is that when the wine bottles rubbed together or were scratched the paint came off a bit. This is probably because it's not ideal for using on glass.

        Good paint for brass
I used this paint to cover a tarnished brass plated frame where the finish was wearing off. I would have preferred the brass colored paint but you can't buy it in the store.

Very Shiny Looks Like Polished Gold
I used this spray paint to paint my christmas tree planter box. I spray it onto a foam brush and brushed it onto the panel. Two coats was enough to make it shiny.

Color does not match as advertised
Assuming that the Can top resembles the color of the paint I bought this product looking for a true metallic copper finish. The color sprayed before clear-coating is a gold finish not copper.

Real, true brass tone, great coverage, easy to use, wish it wasn't 6-pk
I too am irritated by the 6-pack quantity I had to buy, but this is an excellent product that I could not get anywhere else - and I DID look. You can get the gold spray paint of this same product off the shelf at HD stores, but not the brass - it had to be ordered. I have used the gold version of this too and it is amazing how true the color is. Rustoleum nailed it! As for ease of use, this is a great spray - like you have to really really overspray to get it to drip. That is an excellent quality in spray paint, that is that it does not drip or run easily. In the photo, the bird is real brass and the bracket was spray painted with this product. I am particularly happy with the tone match.

          True, Shimmering Gold
I had a few items around my house that I wanted to update with a true gold finish, so I bought this spray paint as well as the "Metallic Pure Gold" also made by Rustoleum. This is far and away a much "truer" gold. The other color bordered on bronze, had very little shimmer, and was much flatter in color. (Looks exactly like the color on the lid). This also has great, forgiving coverage. When I was done, the items literally looked as though I'd dipped them in liquid gold. Much easier than gold leaf paint, and just as good. If you'd like to make like King Midas and gilt items around your house, this is the spray paint for you.
