It doesn’t spray evenly. I warmed up the cans and everything in order to spray properly but the end result look like I was trying to paint tiger stripes. Use plasti dip not this trash !

I have painted several things with this product. It is holding up well and I will use it on other projects. I really like the fact that it dries fast. Makes it easier to put on several coats without runs.

Make sure first coat is light(50% coverage)let dry then apply second coat. Held index card around edge of tire to keep over spray off tires. Put plastic bag behind rim and blue tape on center cap, lugs and valve stem. Came out great looking.

Works as well as plasti-dip, and the price is right. Being able to pick it up down the street at my local Home Depot is a plus if I need more. Go on YouTube to see how to use it.

If you are looking for a true red color this isn't it. Applied 2 coats on metal and the color is more of a rust red.

This is a tricky one...may folks on here have stated what a poor product this is. Like others have mentioned as well, if you apply the basic tenants to successfully painting (slow, multiple, light coats) you will be happy with the outcome. However, I will 2nd the comments on the drippyness and poor spray pattern of the can...but that is the can to blame and not the contents itself. The stuff is definitely thin, but that's fine by me...you just have to spray a higher quantity of coats (and actually helps the paint build up better anyways). Cleanup of overspray was easy too. I was able to get good coverage and easy cleanup when doing my white grill spars to black. 5 coats over the course of a few hours created a great finish. It dries REALLY fast. Photo attached is before I went back over the REALLY tight edges inside the bumper but gives you an idea of the finish. It has now held up for 2 weeks, through multiple automated car washes, and 70mph+ Texas highway driving, without a SINGLE mark...I swear we are the rock-chip capital of the US so that says something. So if durability is a concern, this product has already passed some critical tests in my book. Anyhow, I would recommend this product to anyone who knows how to prep & paint. BUT because of the thin nature of the product and the not optimal spray pattern, I wouldn't recommend it to first timers.

FlexiDip is not at all what I expected. Even after following the directions exactly as written, this was no good for painting rims, which the product is clearly marketed toward. The finished product is thin, cracks and peels without being provoked, and does little to hide defects underneath. I've attached pictures. Luckily, I only bought two cans. I also bought the glossy top coat, which I will return because I don't feel the need to test it after this experience. This may be Rustoleum's worst. I can't say I've ever had a bad experience with Rustoleum products until now. I've attached pictures to this review. The good news is that it does peel off easily, so I can go with something different.

Never Ever use this product on your vehicle. The can and the company both said that it is safe to use on it, but it tore the clear coat right off my car. But this was by far not the only thing wrong with this paint. I mainly use plastiDip to put temporary decals on my car for events. I have to order most colors online and wait for them to ship, but I was in a bind and decided to give Rustoleum's FlexiDip a try since they claim they are a competitor and are sold in more colors at my local Home Depot. Firstly, the spray cans themselves are sub-par to PlastiDip's. They do not pray on as well, they don't spray as evenly, and they have a poor spray pattern. Secondly, the paint itself is much more fluid. It drips more. It has the consistency of cheap watercolor paint vs smooth acrylic paint like PlastiDip has. Thirdly, the paint itself doesn't look as good as PlastiDip when it's dry. PlastiDip has a beautiful matte finish that looks like real matte paint. The FlexiDip when dry looked chalky and worn only a day after application. It felt rough and the finish itself looked uneven. And Lastly, it is hard to get off. You can peel a decal of PlastiDip off almost effortlessly. I took a 1' x1.5' PlastiDip decal off my car in one piece with no problem. It took about 4 minutes total. The FlexiDip kept on ripping and falling apart, taking well over a half hour to take a similar sized decal off. And for the record, both products were applied at the same time a taken off at the same time. I do not work for PlasiDip or any company affiliated with PlasiDip, as I do not have a problem with Rustoleum or any of their other products, but I will never buy Rustoleum's FlexiDip ever again for any reason. They sell both at Home Depot, so please save yourself the trouble and pick the PlastiDip can and not the FlexiDip.

Nice color! like the rubber coating on hand tools (like pliers), this can be built up on non-porous items with multiple coats. It can be removed which might be nice if you decide blue rims on your car isnt your thing. I tested this along with a matte green option on a simple bottle opener. This gave me a chance to see how it works with non-porous (removable), how it works with masking, plus I can see how it handles abuse like opening a bottle. The blue color is glossy and has a small amount of metallic fleck to it. The single paint coat was removable with a fingernail after several days on the bottle opener. Being that easy to remove, abuse like opening a bottle removed some of the paint exposing the chrome of the bottle opener. A specialty paint for specialty uses.

Cleaned very well !!! Then painted my rims on my 04 Tundra, works great, yes you do have to touch up once in a while, CAUTION ! Do not use armor all or similar product on this or your tires, it will melt it off.I found out the hard way !

I have been seeing this rubberized product being used more and more recently. I decided that I would give my computer case an upgrade by painting parts of it white seeing as it was originally all black. The spray goes on very light, so it took 6 full coats to convert my black steel computer case into a solid white. Before I sprayed though I did some prep work to ensure all of the parts I did not want paint on were taped up with some painters tape. I also added a sticker to the case so that I could remove it later giving the case a nice look. I know this product more as Plasti-Dip and its automobile applications. I plan to use this stuff for parts of my truck later down the road. It is very easy to use and it dries very fast. The price point on these is actually not bad.

Project: 2012 GMC Canyon Mission: Chrome blackout and personal touch While this product and Plastidip are on par in price, they are by no means the same product. Having used both Plastidip and Flexidip on this project (store was out and so where all the auto parts stores in 25 miles of me). Flexidip went on just as Plastidip, but Flexidip dried faster and left a smoother texture. It will be some time before I can determine which is better, but I'm putting my money on Plastidip. I just seems to have far better coverage, and after it dries seems to be more durable. As you can see in my photos, the Front bumper, Grill, Rear bumper, and name plates are all Plastidip. The door handles, wheels, and my super awesome stencil are Flexidip. Flexidip left a much smoother texture than Plastidip. I got the effect I was after, but I will probably end up redoing my wheels, and door handles with Plastidip. After using both for the first time ever, I probably would not recommend Flexidip over Plastidip. I recall seeing Plastidip on the shelves when I was in my teens, and Flexidip is a relatively new product. This leads me to believe that Rustoleum just seems to want to grab a piece of the pie. Bottom line, if your product isn't as good or better, you're going to go hungry. My 2 cents, peace and Semper Fi. Update: Home Depot servers aren't letting me upload the photos....

I tested the Flex Dip spray on my garden tools after treating them with Krud Kutter rust converter. My tools look good and work better with new grips. I have a bumper on my car to do next.

This is an interesting product, but I feel that it is in search for a use. It sprays on easily and evenly. After 4 coats there is a good layer of a rubberized coating. It is sort of like the rubber dipped handles on wrenches. I tried it out on my crescent wrench. It made a good layer, but it was pretty easy to wear off. Once it starts to peal, it all comes off. So back to my initial comment, I don't feel this product has much use. Meaning, I would not take the time to prep and paint something, if the coating isn't meant to last. It may be good for changing the look of your car, but I still feel that's a lot of work to put in. I think this product would be better if the rubber coating was more permanent.

this product started to crack when its drying on sprayed painted areas,garbage stick with plasti dip way better results and any surface

This is excellent product

Worked well for my needs, for one of my applications I sprayed the tube for one of my leaf blowers, to make it easier to spot. The surface was a plastic mold, this worked just fine. I applied two coats and I was happy with the results.

It did not spray evenly. Sprayed poorly out of spray tip.

VERY HAPPY WITH COLOR I CHOOSE. PROJECT TURNED OUT NICE.

Did all the prep required and it literally came off within 24 hours

the paint scraped or got torn off pretty easily. Not worth the extra price, I would use the regular product
