I got the effect I was looking for. Only negative is that it smudges easily. Even after letting it dry for more than 48 hrs and top coat. Not too noticeable. One can went a long way. You have to prime first if you want a full metallic look.

    Great color and finish!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like Rust-oleum spray paint. I also like this rose gold color. I like to refinish my own furniture and update the hardware with spray paint. The photos don't do the color justice. It is definitely a rosy gold color and looks great against the sage green dresser. I plan on painting so many more things in my room this color.

      Rust-Oleum Paint
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received Rust-Oleum spray paint as a free sample from TryIt samples. The paint has a bright coat metallic finish, a rich shiny finish, and is fast drying. features a comfort tip with a wider finger pad to reduce fatigue.

Not a chrome finish AT ALL
I'm not sure if my can has gone bad but after spraying it on, it's just grey...and a pretty dark one too. I shook the can very vigorously for quite awhile before spraying. No shine to it at all. You can see in the photo yourself. I did two coats. Don't buy if you want it to actually look chrome.

When using theis there is a very thin line between using too much and just the right amount. If you use slightly more than a very light coat the flakes that create the metallic top cost dont form properly. This makes it look like it intentionally has spots of flat grey and shiny metallic which is clearly how it isn't supposed to be. So far I've used over half the can and only been able to get a few parts I'm painting to look decent. However if you can very accurately apply the paint it looks really nice.

Thank you for sharing your experience, Tash. Keep in mind that a minimum of 2 coats is needed to build up the coverage of Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Bright Coat Metallic Spray. For best results, hold the can upright 10-16" from the surface and spray in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Keep the can the same distance from the surface and in motion while spraying. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 5 Rustoleum

            Don't buy this!
It leaves behind finger prints. It's just a waste of money.

That is not what we like to hear, Laysa! Our Rust-Oleum Bright Coat Chrome Spray Paint uses real metal leafing pigments. If handled, it is possible that some of this metallic pigment may wear off of the surface, or show fingerprints. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2 Rustoleum

              Use primer first
With any good paint job, a primer base is needed. Had an old radiator in my bathroom that was gross from years of use in a bathroom with no ventalation. Used the gray primer and clear enamel to protect and thr chrome shined

Spray painted bathroom light and toilet paper holder
I couldn't afford the light I wanted and minimum of $20 to hold a roll of toilet paper was ridiculous to me so I just spray painted them. Hardest part was getting the vanity light down, ended up having to cut the ground wire and then cap it back together haha. Oh well it works :) Sorry I know its hard to see the light and TP holder in the photos

                Nice Shiny Color!
In my search for a nice silver metallic spray paint, I tested this metallic aluminum color. It does not look like the sparkly metallic, but is a bright shiny clean looking silver. Very close to aluminum soda can color but not exactly the same. I tested it out on a soap dispenser cover and the attached picture is a true to life depiction of the color.

                Unexpected performance
What the rustoleum rep on here basically said is, if you do anything other then look at it, its done. I honestly cannot recommend this for anything either. I did use it on some light fixtures that wont be touched and its standing up ok, anything moving, gets touched or automotive is an absolute no. The can does say "clearcoat not recommended" and I have to agree with the can. 3 days dry time, sprayed on clear and it was like the "chrome" or "bright silver" (its chrome come on) melted. Yeah, it was like the chrome part of the paint was melting. I have spent 10 days and about 7 cans of this and 4 cans of clear trying everything to produce a serviceable product. Cannot wet sand, cannot brush against, cannot leave exposed to elements, cannot breath on... Finally ended with a kind of satiny silver finish. The drying time of 20 to 120 minutes is way way off. Granted is was kind of humid, not unreasonably so, maybe 80%, or less and after 2 full days the finish was still "tacky" and would leave fingerprint mark impressions. Not "wear off" actual impressions, deep valleys and ridges that took a bit of sanding to get to the bottom of. Applying the product is difficult. You need to do it in one coat, one pass, if you don't there will be clearly visible differences as the "leafing" gets disbursed irregularly. KEEP THAT CAN SHAKEN Saying that it is "protective enamel" gives the impression that given it is going to put a protective enamel finish on whatever you are doing, a hard, durable, enamel finish, that is chrome, like the name and the cap imply. really though this is more then misleading, it is a blatant lie and falsely represents the actual finish you will end with. Get some 800-1200 grit sand paper and some buffing wheels, take the time to make shiny whatever you want to shine, this will not do it for you.

Once again, we are sorry for your frustration. Our Bright Coat Metallic Sprays contain a metallic leafing pigment that give the paint it's shiny appearance. However this pigment can come off if rubbed too hard, and can tarnish if applied outdoors. It is designed for decorative, interior use only. For a more durable metallic, and rust inhibitive finish, we would recommend using our Stops Rust Metallic finish or one of our Universal Metallic Aerosols. Please contact our Product Support Group at 1-800-481-4785, to discuss your particular experience with this product further. Rustoleum
