Okay but not great
They clip bags shut pretty well but because they hinge horizontally the bag has to be narrower than the clip or you have to fold the sides of the bag in. The size specified, 10 ½ in, is the overall length of the clip. The actually size of the clipping area is more like 8 ¾ in. I think I should have got the bigger clips because most of the bags I have that I could use them on are wider than 8 ¾. I can still use them by folding the sides of the bag in a bit and I can still use it to lift the bag up. It says that you can “Pour With Control” but it doesn’t explain how. I suppose that you just clip part of the bag and leave part open. That might make it a little easier than not having the clip. I would recommend buying the larger ones for home and garden use.

Useful
I actually only recommend these if you get the color you order. I didn't even know the nice off-white clips came in leprechaun green, but that's what they (direct from vendor) decided to send with a note reading "hope you don't mind, we ran out." Actually, I kinda do mind, but since they're now going to stay mostly in the garage, and returning them is more trouble than it's worth (what they probably hoped), I guess that's okay. Many things, like my potting soil, come in large bags, and most of them these days make the bags with a zip closure of some kind. The thing is, once you use half the bag, you have to reach deep inside to get to the "stuff." I have taken to cutting down bags as the contents decreases just so I don't have to dig in up to my elbows in a bulk bag of frozen chicken meat. I have been using ordinary spring-loaded bag clips, but all they do is keep it folded over. It's not really secure. These clips do not have a pinch spring like chip clips do--it swings open horizontally because of the carrying handle design. It took a little getting used to, but once I mastered swinging it closed without letting go of the folded over part of the bag, it's secure and easy to carry my stuff back to the shelf or fling back into the chest freezer.

Convenient for sealing and carrying bags up to 10 pounds
The Handy Camel clips come in different sizes but the ones I got are rated to carry up to 10 pounds. They are basically a plastic clip that opens at one end and is hinged at the other. It locks closed over a bag and has a handle that allows you to carry the bag. As stated before it is rated up to 10 pounds but it feels sturdy enough to carry more. To be safe, you should only carry what the manufacturer states. You can use it to seal a bag but you can also angle it to make a pouring spout at the corner of the bag. This is an excellent way of sealing bags, keeping out pests, helping to keep things fresh, and prevent them from spilling. I need to get some in the bigger sizes to close up and carry my larger bags.

Heavy duty chip clips!
These things are great. I feel as though I always have bags of grass seed, fertilizer or potting soil open in the garage. These clips have closed them all up and help prevent me (or my kids!) from spilling them. I also have a bag of unused mortar that I did not like leaving open. Concrete mix would also do well with one of these on it, in order to keep it from hardening in the humidity. The handles work OK. They aren't strong enough to lift every bag, but these are rated for 10 lbs only. Stay in the that range, and you should have no problem.

These clips are great for closing up those smaller bags. They effectively close the package and the convenient handle allows you to easily carry the bag. We also use the large 16" clips for the larger soil and fertilizer bags.

Very strong for those larger bags!!
These large clips are super strong and do not let loose! They are easy to clip, lock firmly and are very easy to release also! I use these on my bags of bird seeds, dog and cat food and kitty litter also. They are also good on open bags of ice melt too. The nice handle makes carrying the bags very easy and the item will not slip out either!! These are the ones to get for all your larger bags and quite a value too!!

I Love These!
These are a must-have for the home! I'm currently using these smaller Handy Camel bag clips to secure and transport medium-sized bags of yard materials (grass seed, fertilizer, etc). The secure-hold is excellent; however my favorite feature is the carry handle, it's big and comfortable, and makes carrying multiple bags of materials such as this, so much easier.

These are great
Great bag clip for smaller bags. I have put them on my bags requiring closure; i.e. chip bags, bags of rice, smaller bags of pet food, etc. They close very easily and will not puncture. Easy to store your opened items. These are also excellent for carrying your products. They are very sturdy and should last a very long time. Much better than other clips I have used in the past. I have the larger ones for bags of soil, dog food, etc.

I've yet to find something these can be used for
I was excited to use these giant clips, planning on using them for things such as bags of potting soil, bird seeds, etc. The concept is great...a strong clip that can be used to assist in not only keeping things closed but also carrying, pouring, etc. Turns out, um, not so much. Okay, not at all. The clip has to exceed the length of the bag, (it opens and closes horizontally) so if the bag is 20 inches wide and the clip is only 12 inches, it won't work. I tried using it by folding down the sides of the bag but then it was too thick for the clip to close. Tried it on: soil, bird seed, cat food bags...no go. Figured, what the heck, I'll just use them on bags of chips, but even for that it didn't work because the clip was so heavy duty it was overkill, more likely to crush the chips than to preserve them. Overall, I found them useless.

Excellent quality and grip
These clips are perfect for managing small bags of chips, crackers, pet food, bird seed and other materials. The grip on the bag is excellent however, for an air-tight seal, the bag should be doubled over before clamping. (There is no continuous surface that presses uniformly on both sides of the bag's opening for an air-tight seal.) The handle makes transporting the bags very easy and comfortable. The closure is firm and secure. Once it clicks into place, it won't open up inadvertently - you must release the latch at the end to reopen it. I also appreciate the ability to easily disassemble them for cleaning - they're even dishwasher safe. Lugging bags with molded-in plastic hand grips can be quite uncomfortable, as the handles stretch and feel like they're cutting into your hand. These clips are the perfect solution and provide comfortable handles that make the job much easier on the hands. For heavier loads (up to 40#), such as lugging water softener salt to the basement, the 16" version is perfect.

Excellent Polypropylene Bag Clip
I love these clips! They are extremely easy to use because one end of the clip unlatches and fastens back. So they easily clip large bags of food items as well as the bags of dirt and fertilizers I buy each Spring. Since I drive around twenty miles each time I go shopping I buy a lot of bulk items and repackage a lot of them so I only have to go shop about twice monthly. I definitely recommend these clips.

Very Good Bag Clip
These clips are the smaller version (10.5) versus the 16 version of the clip. These are well made, smaller and lighter when compared to the larger bag clip. Ideal for Bird Seed bags under 20 lbs and other similar bags where bag closure is desirable due to unused bag product. Overall, handy addition to anyone who uses bags, i.e. fertilizer, seed, compost, etc. that limited material is initially used with material left over for future use.

A nifty gadget
These are really pretty neat. I've been using them on things like cat food bags and bags of charcoal, and they do a good job sealing up the bag from moisture or pets. You do have to fold the top of the bag a bit in order for it to fit completely in the 10 1/2" clip. But it does a good job clipping around a pretty bulky bag. My only concern is that it may not last in the long run--I'll just have to wait and see.

MegaClips!!
These perform as advertised. They will end the problem of bags hastily closed and not sealed. They are super strong and all of your food will stay fresher much longer. These are not the ones that you pick up at the bank or hardware store that are meant more for advertising and keeping food. These clamp on any bag and keep it closed. I have used it for everything from a bag of chips to 30lb. bags of dog food that they deliver.

Kid Proof!
No more chips for my kids! My kiddos like to raid my pantry and get into bags of Potato Chips, Doritos, Pretzels etc ... when I'm not looking ... these clips are strong and sturdy enough that my younger children can't open them! They are 2 pieces that hinge on one end and clip closed on the other end ... I've used mine on chips and bags of dog food mainly ... but I can see them being used in the garage for other things (bags of grass seed, fertilizer, soil or salt) ... These would work best on smaller bags ... If you have 15lb bags of dog food I would recommend getting the bigger size clips. This is a great product and I highly recommend it!

great for fertilizer bags and seed
I wasn't sure if I would find a good use for these clips, but I have now used all four! These are not your typical alligator type bag clips, they open sideways and have a nice little hinge on one side. I first used a clip to seal up a bag of lawn fertilizer. The clip clamps on firmly and now the bag has an easy carry handle. It held the 10lb bag with no issues. I have since used the remaining ones on grass seed, ice salt and a small bag of sand. The quality and ease of use are right on target and you will find plenty of uses for them. I would buy these again.

Work Great
I assumed that these bag clips were going to be much smaller, but they work well on just about any size bag. I have used them on chip bags, grocery bags, and even the dog food bags. Plan on keeping them in the car with the canvas bags that I use for my shopping. I like the fact that they are not just a bag clip, but also have a grip to carry the bag with.

Durable Clips
The bigger bags in my home were always not closing very well. These clips have come in so handy for that problem. My household always buys the large dog food bags and these clips are great for closing the bags after using only a small portion of the bag. These also come in handy for use on the salt bags that are left open because none of the small clips were of use. These larger clips are just the right size for these types of bags plus more.

SUPER HANDY
I love these clips!!! The floor of my cupboard was always a mess with birdseed bags, and a variety of dry cat food bags for my picky cats. There are innumerable uses for these such as in the garage with the various open bags of fertilizer, etc. Great invention.

Industrial Bag Clips
These clips work well in the garage to close bags of grass seed, soil, lawn chemicals, etc. They are secure closures that open and close repeatedly. These are not kitchen bag clips.

Simple but helpful
I had a bunch of open soil, sand and salt bags in the garage that I taped shut for seasonal storage, but moving them around to clean the garage or opening/closing them to pour out the product was cumbersome. I decided to try these clips. They work on both bags smaller and larger than the width of the clip. On the larger bags, I just folded the corners in, and clipped it. Now I can move the bags around with ease and opening/closing/pouring is much quicker and easier. A simple product, but very helpful.

It works!
I heard about the Handy Camel big bag clip from a friend. Went to my Home Depot store in Shawnee and they said I had to order it online. This big sturdy clip with a handle really works. I put one on my bird seed and one on an open bag of ice melt in my garage. Makes a mess if it tips over. This isn't a chip clip. It has a strong hinge on one end and a ratcheting closure tab on the other end. Seals the bag tight and the handle makes even a heavy bag easier to carry. Looking forward to seeing this in my Home Depot store.

Great design, works well for a variety of things
I have used these for cereal bags, dog food bags, mulch and fertilizer bags! The size is really good for small the medium bags, the larger mulch bags require you to fold the top in as well as folding it over. Using it as a pouring handle for dog food is awesome!
