I purchased this a few days ago and it cools well and is not terribly noisy. The problem is the control panel and remote do not function properly. The remote with new batteries will not control the unit. And the panel on the unit lights up with both timer on and timer off at the same time. I was told it was probably a "bad board". Now I have to lug this heavy unit back to the store and I am 65 years old and I am tired and hot! It does drain over a gallon of water in the relatively dry California climate.

The old heat pump went out about a year+ ago, and this summer is hotter than the last one. This unit does a great job so far in cooling down my small bedroom, which is about 12' x 14'. I had to get a second PAC, because the other one (an LG) for the other part of the house could only do so much this year. This unit is about the size of a water cooler base, and it fits between my bed and the wall. When it is running on the low fan speed, the sound is bearable. When the fan is on high speed, it is a little noisy, but I can sleep through just about anything, but for others it may be a little disturbing, but NOT so loud that a person wouldn't be able to adapt to it. The exhaust hose and window kit are made of a very good grade of plastic, NOTHING cheap about them. Lastly, the unit itself appears to be well built, but I had to be creative in putting the exhaust hose and window kit in my window. I don't know if it is something with the kit or my window sill.

This was very ineffective at cooling and drained water continuously. Not happy at all

Bought this unit midway thru the summer just based on the size of the unit and clean looks. It works very well cooling my bedroom which is about 250 sq ft. It takes up little space and is not all that loud. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and will consider this brand again in the future.
