Watco Danish Oil
I’ve used this for several large jobs. One was to stain and seal (82) 2x8x16’ cypress beams. The other was staining 1x2x12’ cypress slats (about 200 12’ slats). The Danish oil looks great, adheres evenly, looks fantastic, and has provided good protection. I applied it with foam pads and deck stain pads which made fast work of it. I think I used a total of 5 gallons. The beams are outside but not exposed to the weather. We used stained offcuts to make a pig house, roof for a chicken pen, etc

    Love this stuff !
Bought a bath board for a 6 foot tub. It was sanded but unfinished. I wanted to bring out the natural beauty and this did the trick. Loved it so much I used it on my knife handles and knife blocks. Easy to apply just follow the directions !

I'm using Watco Danish Oil to finish all the solid pine, 6-panel doors in my condo. After applying a pre-stain treatment, I followed the directions on the Watco container. Easy to apply, and brings out the grain. I'm using the Golden Oak finish. I'm finishing the doors with furniture wax and the result is a perfect shine. It's hard capture the shine in the photo. And please ignore the rest of the room; I'm not done with the room yet!

This worked really well on a jewelry box I made for my wife. It went on easily with a soft cloth. I applied 3 coats and rubbed each one with a soft cloth about an hour layer. Little or no cleanup, just throw the rag away after it dries out. I'm looking for other projects around the house to use it on.

Yes If you are looking to get away from that polyurethane hard finish this product give you a nice even finish . And I am sure some protection . I used the danish oil on my Fireplace mantel and floating shelves . I will be building a dining room table in the future and will use the Danish oil instead of stain then maybe for some more durability a light coat of varnish . But I feel the oil does add some conditioning to the wood and brings out more in the wood than stain.

Love the way this product soaks into and protects the wood from under the surface, Much easier to apply than poly, which sits on top of the surface. Not as good as poly for a wet surface, but perfect for most furniture. I do wish Home Depot carried this in quarts.

I purchased these two chairs at a yard sale, one chair was in pieces. They had been stored outside in the weather for years. After cleaning them up, I applied 3 applications of this oil. Results are amazing. See photos for before and after. A great product.

Really great for wood you want to really let shine. I used it on cedar and the color and grain brought out was just gorgeous. For any hardwoods, this will definitely be what I turn to.

    Decent, but dissapointed with color
Easy to apply, I just wished I would have gone darker. I think the picture on the label is misleading, looks a bit darker. I used HDXTerry Staining Pads to apply.

Thank you for sharing your experience with Watco Danish Oil. Please keep in mind different types of wood can affect the outcome of the color. For this reason, we recommend to always test the product to verify the desired color. Apply a test sample on a small inconspicuous area before proceeding with the entire job. Rustoleum

    I Love This Stuff!
I had't heard of Danish Oil before this purchase. This stuff is great! I love that it conditions and protects the wood as it coats. It has natural finish color but will get darker with added coats. Since it only conditions and protects the natural wood and doesn't coat, the natural imperfections of the grain show through. I took a black painted old coffee table found at the dumpster and turned it into a beautiful natural wood center piece.

    Good Danish Oil
Used the danish oil to oil the teak wood on the top of this project. Then I used Minwax's Wipe-on Poly from HD to finish everything. This is a step stool I made for my (short) hairdresser. Made from scraps I had around: teak (top), red oak (sides) and ash (stringer). The red oak was purchased as a scrap from HD and the other wood was scrap from other projects I had made.

    Good Stuff
Oil is easy to apply with a rag or a brush. Dries quickly. You can recoat within 30 minutes depending on how heavy the previous coat was. Dries to a clean non-oily feeling finish. Brings up the color in the wood and holds it when dry. I used it over cypress in the photos. I put 2 coats on the wood and still have 90% of the quart left. It goes a long way. Good product and worth the money. Easy to clean up with mineral spirits.

    Natural? Hmm, not so much
I used this product first on a cedar chest. Very satisfied with the finished look. It does darken the cedar slightly and provides a nice shine. When used on a red oak keep-sake box, it added a little orange tint. Matter of taste but I didn't care for the change. It does sand off easily. The cedar chest, after 2 cans applied, drying well between coats, it seems to have a thin protective shell after drying a few days. I will use this on cedar again. Also, 1 pint covered the outside of 48x24x36 inches. Heavy coat brushed on. Reapplied to some areas around knots that will soak up oil.

This product is easy to use and is an all-in-one step application.
This product was used for an Eagle Scout project, refurbishing 22 wooden church pews and kneelers. The project was slated for 3 consecutive Sundays, 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm but the project was completed in one day and in just 4 hours. This product's all-in-one process helped make this project easier and a huge success.

Super easy to use, beautiful results
Finishing a woodworking project couldn't be simpler. I sanded with 220 and then applied the oil with a blue paper shop towel. I put it on liberally and after 5 minutes or so, wiped off the excess. After letting it dry overnight, I had one of the smoothest surfaces I've ever felt. No additional sanding, just wipe it on and that's it. The "natural" variety of this oil produces nice warm tone to light colored wood.
