The Woodford IOWA Y34 yard hydrant is "America's Original" and been manufacturing them since 1929, first in IOWA, and since 1977, Colorado Springs, Colorado. There is no comprable yard hydrant out there and stands above the rest. Wonderful your client wanted the Y34. Woodford, The Choice of Professionals.

Only time will tell, but we've used these hydrants for over 50 years on the farm, so I expect these new ones to give us several years of solid service. Much better than any other we've tried.

Note this states only 1 foot bury depth. Here in mid-atlantic region a 2-3 foot bury depth is recomended.

Hydrant works fine, deducted a star because I had to adjust everything to stop it from leaking, deducted a second star because the hydrant was seemingly packed when the paint was still wet, pieces of the cardboard packaging still stuck to it in a couple of spots. They want top dollar for this hydrant but don't test and adjust it at the factory? Or care enough to let the paint dry fully?

Woodford takes pride in our products. We apologize for the two issues you mentioned in your review. Woodford's been producing the Y34 America's Original yard hydrant since 1929 and it stands above the rest. Hydrants go through a stringent painting drying sytem, however, there are those smaller areas that can stay a bit wet and make contact on the carton. Woodford, The Choice of Professionals.

The hydrant is appears very well made. But the feeder line didn't fit the 3/4" x 3/4" Hydrant Elbow I puchased separately because the fitting barb was 3/4" I.D. whereas the PEX was 3/4" O.D.
