Lay on thick as other reviewers say. Let fully dry and repeat 2-3 times! We rolled it on. Very happy!

    Didn’t last a year
I purchased 4 cans of this paint for my inground cement pool. I spent a week (due to my disabilities) painting my pool and it looked lovely. Fast forward 5 months later my pool doesn’t look like anything was done. Paint totally faded! What an expensive disappointment!

      So disappointed in this paint!
Exactly one year ago we prepped and painted our pool and used this brand of paint as the majority of reviews were positive. We spent a lot of time and money and once it was complete it was beautiful! I attached a picture of the after and now to show how wasted it would turn out to be. Now we have pock marks down to concrete and the paint faded within 3 months. We now have to have a company come in to repair it. On a side note we followed the instructions explicitly and even called customer service when in doubt.

Carribean Aqua? You Got It! Insl-X Semi Gloss White
I resurfaced my 18 year old extremely well maintained plaster pool. 3 weeks worth of work, results? Amazing. I have reviewed online many folks order Blue paint, some say" Well it is darker than I thought but I still love it." Well I only use the Semi Gloss White Because I know the outcome- Caribbean Aqua. What I did not realize is how fantastic this paint is & the results after and 8-9 day cure period in Las Vegas 85 degree weather with 4% Humidity. 2 days it was over cast with 40% humidity threatened rain but did not. My Tip- If you want this Aqua the White is the way to go. When filling up the pool the water looked like I added Aqua dye to it. Home Depot had the best price than any other online retailer & they had UPS deliver it to the store one day earlier than expected. The Application of this paint was extremely smooth going on. I used two coats. No harsh smell. Specs: 13 000 gallon pool & 400 gallon Spa- 4 cans with a tiny bit left over for touching up corners and tile accents. The results look like a $7000 replaster job.

This paint goes on easy with a roller and two coats usually lasts me two to three seasons in the pool. Chlorine and sunlight does lighten the color after just one season but otherwise is okay. Pre-paint preparation is so much easier than with a rubber based or epoxy paint and economical enough to use every couple of years. Do not expect this to seal leaks or cover flaws in your surface. With walls and floors my 20x40 pool with deep end takes between 5 and 6 gallons with two coats, I have used both Black and Royal Blue colors. I loved the black but wife made me go back to blue this year.

I did everything that the instructions called for. Power washed, adequately dried everything before applying 2 coats. Let it dry for 8 days before starting to fill the pool. Within 12 hrs of filling, BUBBLES EVERYWHERE. Now I'm looking at having to strip it all and start over with another product. Would NOT recommend. I honestly feel that latex house paint allowed to dry for an extended period of time would have fared better.

Paint used on a 30K gallon in-ground pool constructed of concrete and plaster. Pool had NOT been painted in 4-years, and this year patch repairs and misc repairs made and covered with paint and allowed to dry. Pool surfaces were cleaned 3X separate times utilizing a powered pressure washer and allowed to dry 2 days. Final cleanup of loose, misc debris (leaves, bugs, etc., ) by broom. I then used a 12"-15" roller to apply paint evenly throughout the pool beginning with walls and eventually the floor. I allowed the 1st coat paint to dry 1-day and applied the 2nd coat of paint allowing it to dry 5-days before putting water into the pool. The color matched the choice and covered every surface evenly with no alternating color patches. I am satisfied this paint will do the job you are asking from it.

          Beautiful and oustanding results!!!
I had my doubts cuz I mean who paints their pool, right? Plus, we live in N. TX where rain is random, fickle and sometimes plentiful and humidity is an every day thing. So... suffice it to say, our little sump pump worked lots of overtime and we were almost certain our project was doomed to failure. Our 23,000 gal inground gunite salt pool was put in by the last owners of our house, which we bought a year and a few months ago. We didn’t know that the salt chlorinator was broken so once warm weather hit last year (April 2017) we had nothing but trouble with algae and staining. Suffice it to say, we ended up with what looked more like a very dirty fish pond by mid fall. The huge Sycamore tree next to our pool with big leaves and spike balls didn’t help either. So... we opted to drain and acid wash what was at one time a white gunite pool. It was so badly stained by algae and hard water deposits it was stained a horrible yellowish color which we were never going to get off. And so we painted! 2 coats was 3 1/2 gallons. We were not able to let it cure dry for 7 days straight because of the fickle weather here. However, because we had a heat wave right after rain, we decided that 3 days was good enough. That was about a week ago. So far we have not had any problems with bubbling or any other indications that the paint is coming off. We LOVE our beautifully refinished pool!

38x18, 25,000 pool with a 6' deep end. Pool is over 70 years old and was originally a reservoir for long since removed citrus orchards. Had been converted to a swimming pool long ago and since re-plastered and painted by previous owners, apparently a number of times, and apparently with a variety of products. Pool surface showed everything from bare plaster to different colors and textures of previous coatings that had, for the most part, worn off. Drained pool, washed/scrubbed with a 50/50 mixture of chlorine and water and a large brush, then sanded the entire pool with an orbital sander and 80 grit paper. When done the pool's texture felt very smooth, but was nonetheless thoroughly "roughed up" by the sanding. Because other reviews talked about how well this product covered, I purchased 7 gallons (Royal Blue) instead of the recommended 9. I read the instructions on the can as well as the manufacturer's instructions on line. There were slightly different instructions between the two, so it definitely helped to read both. I applied the first coat thinned with one pint of water/gallon using a 3/8" nap Purdy "White Dove" roller rather than the recommended and hard to find lambskin variety. I got a nice, overcast 70 degree day in May and applied the first coat in the morning and the second coat in the afternoon. The first coat took just over 1-3/4 gallons and looked great, even though previous inconsistencies in the pool finish could be slightly seen. The second coat took about 1-1/2 gallons and resulted in a wonderful, consistent finish that fully covered the previous finish. I waited a full five days to add water to the pool. We had a slight rain the morning after the pool was painted but I vacuumed up the water and wiped it down with towels right away. The rain caused no issues and I was fine to walk on it to vacuum/dry it. The pool looks great! It has only been a couple weeks but the pool has a wonderful color, with no fading, bubbling or other issues. I truly believe that if you take the time to do the prep correctly then this product will do an outstanding job. Again, this pool is over 70 years old and appears to have had virtually everything put on it over the years, all of which this product did a great job of covering and adhering to! And even better, Home Depot gladly allowed me to return the 3 gallons I did not use. I would highly recommend this product for virtually any in-ground pool application.

I needed a waterproof paint for a concrete shower base and decided to take a chance and use this paint. Fast shipping and well packed. The paint went on easily and smoothly with no issues. The 70+ year old shower base looks brand new. The only negative is the size - I only needed a quart and had to buy a gallon. Highly recommend.

Every two or three years, I'll empty my in-ground gunite concrete pool, patch any problem areas, and paint it with INSL-X Ocean Blue paint. Just to paint a picture for you, the pool had already been painted by a previous owner before I purchased the house and I've been putting off jack hammering and re-plastering for many years now out of an overabundance of cheapness with a little bit of lazy thrown in to boot. The good: The paint is way cheap compared to a lot of pool paints out there. It covers well and looks amazing for a while. I've had no problems with the paint flaking or bubbling -- apparently that happens when you put acrylic paint over other kinds but you can do your own research there. I'll usually do two to three coats, maybe seven gallons of paint to cover my 25,000 gallon pool. The bad: Using chlorine tablets, I find that the paint fades to white within months. Okay, so I'm probably using too much chemicals and don't generally do my due diligence in terms of testing the water regularly, plus I live in an area with very hard water. It's not a deal breaker for me. The pool looks amazing for the summer after I do it, and not bad for the next two years afterward. The paint is cheap enough that, when it's time to empty the pool, I might as well repaint it. If you're expecting the color to last for years, you might be disappointed. Your mileage may vary.

For the money I don't think you can ask for a better product. This is the second time that I have used this product for my pool and I am very pleased. It covers great and one gallon will cover a lot of area (250-300 sq ft). I double coated my 40x20 pool (5ft to 10ft in depth) with 8 gallons of paint. I know going in that the life span is 3-5 years and I got 4 great years the first time. If I can do a better job of keeping my pool clean and not have to do a lot of brushing I might get another year or two this time.
