Used to paint brick around fireplace. Surface and grout joints were rough and porous. Took 3 coats but was not fault of product. Paint was thick enough , had no runs and held on to brush and roller well.

Beautiful Masonry Paint
The bluest gray masonry paint spread evenly throughout my sidewalk. It is a thick, shiny and beautiful appearance. Couldn’t ask for a better paint and color.

          White concrete block pier
I just finished building a concrete block pier for my telescope and I wanted a good seal to keep moisture from penetrating the blocks so I chose the Behr masonry paint in white which will help keep the pier from absorbing too much heat on a sunny day. I think this is going to work very well.

          great coverage
we picked this paint to give new life to a tired old fire place. thick enough to cover great. use a rough surface roller and a good brush... not the cheapest and not the best ( Purdy, Wooster Pro ) because you will be throwing it away when your done.

            Not White?
Purchased this from my local home depot, was directed to purchase it by a store associate as I am trying to paint my fireplace white and wanted something durable. Got home and cracked it open. Appears to be tan... Either my can is totally mislabeled or this is not a true white and the advertising of the product needs to be corrected. Absolutely misleading and frustrating. Puts me behind schedule on my project and I have to go back to the store and find a different product, will not be using this one.

Hello DIY, thank you for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear your finishing color wasn't what you expected it to be; that's not the experience we want our customers to have with our products. To verify that your color was mixed correctly, we’d suggest checking that the physical color swatch matches the paint dab on your paint's lid. If the colors match, the paint was properly mixed, and the color is correct. In cases like this, the best solution would be to recoat in a different color. If the swatch doesn’t match the dab on your can’s lid, the color was incorrectly mixed, and we’d suggest recoating with new paint tinted to the correct color. Please keep in mind that different lighting will affect how a color looks and that our online color palette display may vary slightly from the actual colors due to variances in monitor settings. Customer satisfaction is important to us. Please feel free to contact our Customer Care team directly with any questions you may have or for further assistance. Have a great rest of your day. –Joanna Behr

I used this to paint my basement walls, which are standard concrete blocks. This room is used as a combination of things: home office, guest room, gaming room (for my video games), movie-watching, etc. I wanted to block out as much light glare/reflection as possible, especially for movie-watching, so I decided on black with a satin finish. I am absolutely impressed with how easily this paint applies - it's smooth, dries evenly, and has very little actual odour. While this paint claims to be one-coat-coverage, I dismissed that claim and had no expectation of it living up to that promise, being that I was painting black over white, which is near-impossible to achieve a solid black in only one application. To its credit, this paint only took two applications to achieve the desired coverage. I did make sure I had my dehumidifier running to keep the room's relative humidity at or below 50%, the ambient temperature was ~72 degrees Fahrenheit, and I used a heavy-nap roller to apply the paint to ensure I got in all the cracks and crevices of the blocks and mortar. It also bears mentioning that not only did I paint the cinder block walls with this paint, but I have some walls and the ceiling that are actually drywall - I anticipated this causing application problems, but to my surprise, it went on just as well as it did the masonry. Bonus! If I find myself in a position to need more paint that can be applied to masonry, stucco or brick, I will not hesitate for a fraction of a second to purchase this particular product again!

Hi SKB - Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that this color didn't turn out as bright as expected. The color Glacier White MS-32 is a warm, creamy white. For a bright white, we recommend recoating your fireplace in the color White MS-31. For further assistance with this, please feel free to reach out to us directly. We'd be happy to help. - Sara Behr

I bought this paint to go with the flooring I put in my sun room. I painted the brick wall in the room and it matched perfectly! I am very happy with the color. I also bought the flooring from home depot (lifelock Catalina gray) and installed it a few weeks ago.

I bought this paint because it has the features I was looking for: - "Self-priming" - "Long lasting" - "20 year guaranteed" - "Exterior" I mean, these qualities are eye-catching for all to read; very nicely printed on the can I may add. In my mind I thought, if it can paint "Masonry, stucco & brick", painting my garage doors would be a breeze, right? Wrong, IT WAS NOT. For my project, I'm 100% certain this paint is NOT self-priming. And yes, I did read the label; I did clean and prepare the surface; and I did check weather conditions (temperature, humidity, rain, wind, etc.). I'm attaching a photo of how my garage doors looked after the first coat. As you can see, the paint is not self-priming at all. The unevenness was not because of wet/dried spots. The photo was taken 3 hours after the first coat. All painted areas were dried to the touch. I wanted to return it but with the City Directive to Stay Home (COVID-19), I was stuck with this paint. I thought to myself, I got the time. So, I let it dried for 24 hours and re-applied a second coat. Coverage was better but, no cigar here!. My garage doors still looked patchy with uneven paint coverage. Once again, I let it dried 24 hours. For the third coat, I decided to paint-brush instead. Finally, I was able top get the coverage and look I wanted. I had the time for this project but never did I anticipate using it to paint my garage doors three (3) times.

                  Hi carlosbece,

Thank you for your review. I'm very sorry to hear about your recent experience, as it certainly isn't normal. I'd love to gather more information about your project, such as the material your garage doors are made from. As you know, this paint is recommended for masonry, stucco, and brick surfaces and not other types such as wood or metal. I encourage you to contact Behr directly for further assistance with this matter. We'd love to help as best as possible.

                  Kindest regards,

                      Hi Nama1,

Thank you for reviewing our Masonry, Stucco & Brick Paint. As it turns out, it's not recommended for fountains or areas submerged underwater. I strongly recommend using a marine paint when it comes time to recoat.

                      Kindest regards,

                      Doris Behr

I had this paint tinted light gray, and purchased it with a five gallon tub of the same in white. I painted my ugly concrete patio bright (two coats) and then used one coat of the gray with a stencil on top of the white (see pic). The paint is high quality, so far no bubbling or flaking (3 weeks and lots of 90 degree weather later) even though it's on a concrete patio that gets lots of wear and tear.
