If I were a professional Lacquer critic I would of used ventilation. This product seems to work. The price was right.

Excellent

Used this product to finish the top and side of my 4x8 Carpenters Table with triple flips (Se photos). It produced a smooth high gloss finish with no bubbling or brush marks.

I have tried different Lacquers but they just would not work out for me! Slow drying and easy to run while spraying. This is a brushing Lacquer but I do both brush then sand and then spray it. It sets up hard like I want it. Nice gloss finish! It's what I've been needing to do instrument work for years! I highly recommend it! I started with a quart to see how it did for me and then I bought 2 Gallons! Price is great too!

This product is great for production work. I can apply the product in the morning and in a couple of hours either recoat or wrap the item up and ship it out.

I have used Watco lacquer for many years now and think it is one of the best.

Good quality lacquer, especially at this price. I used it to finish several hundred sf of wainscoting, base board and trim. It sprayed very nicely and I got much more milage than expected.

The best lacquer I've ever used. Spray or brush it comes out beautiful. Smooth with no brush strokes if you just don't over brush it and don't apply to thick. Three thin coats not one thick coat. No need to sand between coats however I like to use a 400 grit spong sander just to say I did and it helps to remove any dust that may have been in the finish. Have been using watco for many years. Arrived in good condition especially since being delayed 10 days in shipping due to snow storm.

The fumes are very strong.Have to be used outside and up wind . i hoped to use this in a sprayer but it was to thick. If you mix it with another type oil base paint clear it turns to gel. also mineral sprits gels also with this. Liquar thinner is the only way to clean up. I ended up using a paint roller to put it on 200 sq foot of wood trim i made. That worked well. Dries fast in less than 30. Also this paint melts into the previous coat so the first coat on pine wood left some white places where it reacted to the pine sap but on the second coat it melts into the previous coat and the white place went away . it looks good i hope it will last as good as a water based product.

This is a great product that offers great protection

Purchased the lacquer and a fine bristle brush to finish and seal an antique couch that I had sanded down and stained yesterday. I waited a whole day and a half for the stain to fully dry. As I started brushing the lacquer on one section it began separating and looked sticky. I left it to see if maybe it would dry down even - and it did not. I tried to clean the brush with thinner and the bristles were hard as a rock. Went back to Home Depot to buy a new brush and second time around, I tried the lacquer on a random piece of wood inside the house with air conditioning, to see if it was the humidity that affected it. Same thing happened, went on sticky and splotchy. This must've been a bad batch because I see a good amount of positive reviews. Very unhappy that this was a waste of money.

I was disappointed that the can's instructions do not say anything about spraying this product.

This finish lays down smooth. A pleasure to work with.

I used this product on a toy chest that was nice to begin with but as always with anything made of wood I feel the need to improve the appearance with stains, polyurethanes, etc.. However, after picking up a quart of Watco Lacquer and using it on a few small items I decided to purchase 6 more cans. This lacquer is easy to use and dries quickly. I feel it is superior to polyurethane applying it and when finished the look is rich and natural. You won’t be disappointed with Watco.

Good lacquer, I thin it 10% and spray it on guitars, works fine accepts tint and pigment just like it should, good deal.

I am a restorer/conservator and always want to use materials similar to those originally used. This product has produced excellent results in coating my specialty items, vintage radio cabinets. Just take the personal safety warnings very seriously.

Great price and service. I just wish Watco and Deft still sold the sprayable lacquer that dried quickly. The set time on this is about 30 minutes. the older lacquer would have already been on the second coat after about 15 minutes. Still a good product and service.

Could not find it in any store so I ordered it and got it right away. Great finish.

I sprayed this over white paint and it has a yellow tint to it. Probably fine over bare wood but not for over paint.

I bought this product because my usual go-to varnish was unavailable in the store. Big mistake! I have tried this product twice now on two totally different projects, (an end table and a painted quilt block), and both times it caused the paint to smear, while also leaving behind yellow streaks. Both projects had been allowed to dry for over a week, lightly sanded, and then cleaned before adding the laquer. Neither of my projects had any yellow paint or yellow pigments in the paint either. It ruined both of my projects, causing me to have to repaint each. Totally frustrating and a big waste of my time and money! It's also very thick, hard to apply, and has a very strong odor that burns your eyes. I will NOT be using this product again.

I have used this product for a couple of years, now and it continues to work very well. Dries fast. Dries hard. It must be sprayed, though. Just about impossible to brush on a smooth layer.

Pure and consistent. It did a beautiful job.
