Great product &easy to use.
I was very pleased with my recent purchse of the 15 AMP electric chipper shredder. My reason for this puchase was due to Pierce County's burn band rules and regulation. As you will see in the following pictures, I had a hugh amount of cut branches and bushes to dispose of and this chipper did a fantastic job to reduce this to a small pile of mulch. The machine was easy to operate, with easy instructions to follow. The performace was beyond my expectations, cutting all branches and shredding all leaves in minimum time. I would recommend this product to anyone.

I chose Lawnmasrtr because of the bag to catch the chips, it is great. The lawnmaster works well on small limbs of 1/4 inch to about I inch, on green leaves and small twigs that have to be forced down to the blade will clog-up and limbs approaching 1 1/2 inch will jam. I would recommend the Lawnmaster but make aware of my experience.

Easy to assemble. Produces a good ground cover chip provided you use striped branches with no leaf or twig. Doesn't do a good job of chopping real small twig, it seems to pass thru. Main purpose of using is reduce size of waste thrown in green waste and produce suitable mulch. Presently working on dead multi truck Olive tree, a real pain. Easy to clear jams.

A boat anchor. Totally ineffective! My father in law received this as a gift, and I assembled it for him. That went fairly smoothly. Putting the hub caps on was the most difficult part. When we tried it, it had difficulty chopping up even the thinnest of twigs. A 1/2” diameter stick, fed slowly jammed the blade. When I opened the hopper to un-jam I saw that the mechanism is essentially a small lawn mower blade mounted at an angle, Will try to return to HD, but it may be past the return date.

Even with limb dimeters 1" or less, the machine jammed frustratingly.Overall, for yard clean-up, the prerequisite procedure of trimming down branches was more of a hindrance than doing by hand.

I bought a new home in the winter. I had no idea there was no grass on the property. It was woods and lots and lots of leaves and dead branches. I bought the Sun Joe chipper and just love it. 2 days later I ordered the leaf mulcher. I am so impressed with the Sun Joe product quality and ease of use. My husband is ill and not able to help so being easy to use is important to me.

It will only shred branches the size of twigs and would only shave them and it kept stalling, even when I would put a twig in one at a time.

Don't buy this thing. It's shoddy and doesn't work. I've been mulching my yard with wood chips. I've been using the chipper 3-5 times a week for 30-45 minutes at a time. I've been careful not to put large branches in and not to force them. After several weeks of using this chipper, it suddenly stopped working. It sounds like the motor gave out. I waited a while, hit the reset button, and turned it on again. It revved up for a second or two, then died again. I've been trying to get it to work all day. Nothing. I've been trying to get my yard mulched to avoid a zoning violation. Now I can't, and it's going to cost me hundreds of dollars--that I don't have--because of this worthless piece of trash. I can't afford a new chipper. And I certainly shouldn't have to buy a new one every couple of months! Shoddy, worthless waste of money.

it works great! You got to be careful not to feed too much wet stuff in it because if you do it will get gummed up, but it's no big deal it's easy to open and clean and works like a champ.

Definitely not worth the money--as far as I'm concerned, not worth "2 cents!" It was easy to put together (once I had retrieved a washer from a slot in the bottom of the machine and a pin stuck in the tape that taped down the bottom flaps--the little zip-lock bag these were supposed to be in had a slit in the bottom and the other washer, pin and screws were rolling around in the bottom of the box when I opened it) but doesn't seem to shred leaves. I passed a batch through the machine 7 or 8 times and ended up with a pile that wasn't much more broken apart than raking a pile of leaves produces (as in a few leaves were finally broken up a little)--didn't even try "limbs"--the leaves come out just about the way they went in! I'm taking it back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone!

The chipper was easy to put together. Really just putting the wheels on. Works great on small branches, leaves etc. I like it because I can wheel it around easily and work in different parts of the yard. If you put a storge bin under the chute to collect the chips you can carry them easily.

The machine sucks. It has a very small opening to get leaves into, and half of the leaves passed straight through without being touched by the blades. It's pretty much worthless for anything but grinding up very small twigs, doesn't do leaves very well at all. Total waste of money for me.

We had a LawnMaster electric chipper/shredder that was 25+ years old and we loved it. Sturdy metal construction and ran like a charm until it finally gave up the will to live. The new one is mostly plastic. Used it for the first time and it doesn't grind up yard waste nearly as well as the old one. Everything we ran through the old one came out finely ground. Run twigs and stems thru this one and they come out as slightly chewed twigs and stems. The one plus is that it's quiet. Also, the product was shipped without the pins, screws and bolts needed to put it all together.

              OK for small stuff
I bought this chipper knowing it was light-duty. However, it's still a slow process with small dry branches. Hard woods are especially slow even when less than 1/2 in. It tends to shred green branches in long strips than chip them.

Very good product for what I used it for
I purchased this item to decrease the amount of yard debris mostly blackberry vines and small sticks in my yard. It is rated for up to a 3 inch diameter limb but I found it struggled with anything over 2 inches. It would eventually get the limb shredded, it just took patience. Since I wasn't interested in actual chips for mulch, I don't really care that if the sticks or vines get put in sideways instead of straight, the machine spits out long curls of debris instead of fine chips. I will say that with the blackberry vines cut the week before shredding were pretty dry. They went through the shredder like melted butter!! I turned about 5 truck loads of stickers and blackberry vines into 4 large outdoor garbage cans of shredded/chipped easy to handle and dispose of chunks. Worth every penny and more. I do feel that it is a little cheaply made but that's what makes it light weight and easy to maneuver around on uneven ground. If I had bought this product simply for limbs or for making my own wood chips, I would be disappointed. If thats what you are looking for, spend the bigger bucks to get gas powered. But, if you're like me and just want to destroy giant blackberry vines, it's worth the price.
