So far we are very pleased with the safe. It looks nice, has ample space, appears strong/solid/durable, fits on our shelf nicely, and operates easily (once we figured out how). From reading the reviews, we were concerned about having a problem being locked out of the safe. Parts of the instructions were confusing. After some trial and error, we finally understood how to operate it. For example: instructions that show - enter: * - *, led us to initially think we needed to enter 3 characters. To us it would be clearer to show - enter: * twice. We changed the factory set code and set up the card reader. The card reader feature is one of the main reasons we chose this safe. It is more convenient than entering a code every time. When we moved it the card reader stopped working. After several attempts of trying to use the key pad and getting a couple of lockout penalties, we discovered that the two #'s have to be entered in quick succession. Then we were able to program the card reader again. The door has to be unlocked for programming. Except for the unclear instructions, we are very satisfied with the safe.

DO NOT BUY!! The electronic locking mechanism stopped working after 2 months with all my valuables in it. Cost me more to get it out than I paid for the safe. Pay more and buy a real better quality safe.

Digital lock did not work and I have to retturn

I bought this safe for my residence; it is light and simple to set up. This product has numerous backups (key, code, and card). It's definitely worth the price and shipping delay.

When I took it out of the box the door wouldn’t open without using excessive force. Turns out the door was jammed against the frame opening. The plastic battery case was damaged and wouldn’t contain the batteries. But the major problem was that when batteries were installed(and I tried 12 different ones) the locking system failed to activate. Very poor quality control on this one. I returned it for another brand.

Nice safe, does the job I was hoping for. It is well made, appears to be sturdy enough and easy to operate after set up. The set up itself was a bit confusing but after reading the owners manual a few times to comprehend the functions for the set up then success. I anchored the safe on the floor with the included hardware. I would buy again, better value vs other safes of the same type.

The safe is ok but not as sturdy as any hotel safe I have used, looks exactly the same though. The door is about 1/2 the thickness as any hotel safe I have used. Looks like it will still do the job for me in my home.

I looked at many other safes in this price range before selecting this model. So far, I've had not problems whatsoever and found it to be exactly like the description. It's a good product at a fair price.

This was the exact same safe as we used in our hotel room. We know use it in our house to protect our valuables when the cleaning staff is on site.

We have purchased 6 Mesa electronic safes which have worked well for us in our vacation rentals. Guests have had positive reviews as well.Great product!

It was scratch and dented and the safe didn’t even open

As advertised. Good value. Only complaint is the button beeps and lock/unluck chime are very loud. Feels like I'm waking up my whole house if I open up the safe at night.

Safe works fine but bolts holes for pedestal don't line up when using all 4 making job very difficult. Actual went out and bought self tapping screws and used 2 of them and 2 that were supplied with unit. Also pedestal color does match safe. Much different shade.

The safe fit perfectly on the intended shelf. It's not burglar proof, but great for keeping things out of little hands. The electronic lock did not work at first, but a quick call to customer service resolved the issue (wire came loose during shipping). Excellent customer service.

Poor

I bought this safe in 2010, it recently acting the digital part are not working well any more so I have to use the key, I'm writing this review just to let you know how long it last me, there is not a day that I don't use it (for my business) I even dropped it from 7 ft down when we moved and it is still up and running. I really appreciated it, now I'm considering getting a new one or maybe stay with the current using the key.

Ordered this for a vacation rental unit and when we got it very surprised as this one is large enough to hold laptops. We did not realize they came in two sizes, but this one is great.

Exactly what I expected. If you have used a hotel safe before, this is the same type of product.

Had to reconect wirers due to poor packing and rough shipping treatment. This required tools and much guess work. After fixing the wiring and overlooking the small dent in the corner, I decided to keep it. It works well and suites my purpose. This purchase is just one more example of why I always try to avoid shopping at Home Depot. I've never had a 100% positive experience there.

Easy to set up. Would definitely recommend. Seems very strong.

Great safe for the money. Easy to set the combination. Had some difficulty using it at first. One of the main wiring harness inside the door came off rendering the safe unusable. This was from shipment. A call to the company fixed the problem.

With the exception of having to grind a little steel off the very top of the door where it rotates into the safe door area (took 3 min with a hand held grinder and then it didn't rub at all on the frame) i was completely happy with this purchase. It functions just as described and the price is very resonable.

Nice safe for the $$. It arrived when they said it would. It is easy to operate, and it installed easily. The holes in the back are not 16 inches on center, I just used the two hole one one side to attach it to the wall. You could how ever attach a piece of wood to the wall first and then attach the safe to that.

This safe installs and functions as you'd expect. It screws into the wall or shelf. It is a safe. It locks.

The unit arrived Broken. Tried calling manufacturer several times. Finally got through. They told me to take off electrical pad on back of unit and see if loose wire and reattach. Trying to fix now.
