I had to put up a slab door. This was perfect with the template.

I was needing to cut angle on some trim pieces but did not want the entire edge at a 45°. The pieces were too small for me to completely do it with a table saw. So I decided to get this router. Worked incredibly well. Gave me the edge I was looking for to match the trim in the rest of the house. Going to use this for dado cuts soon as well.

This is a great tool. I use it for smaller jobs like cutting boards, etc. I had originally bought into the "lifetime" service brand at HD but after reading the details on "registering" the product and the service, I opted to return it. This unit has more power and is much quieter than the other brand. Fits great in the hand and is a joy to use. This router is a great addition to anyone's workshop!

Great little router, I use it for small trim work and also in my Shapeoko CNC machine.

Great features variable speed, accessible brushes and 6.5 amps. The 2 wrench design is a very nice feature in addition to the spindle lock. I unpacked read the instructions and tested the variable speed dial and the motor and it runs very smooth and quiet with no router bit installed. The router body and grip is very comfortable and not too large to hold safely. The included straight guide is a great bonus and fits securely. I will order the dust guard and other accessories over time. I really like the Makita base diameter and optional accessories that can be used with it. The warranty is 1 year. I chose to add the 2 year home depot protection plan for another $12 and have the router brand and design I chose for my individual needs. After hours of reading recommended router bit speed charts and reading product reviews I wanted the best compact routing experience. I chose to return a single speed 7 amp 27000 rpm compact router with soft start and electronic feedback sealed in its box.

Bought the other comparable router at the same price point first because it came with the carry bag and had the tempting service agreement. Should have known I was paying for those things because the actual tool quality was pretty run-of-the-mill. I returned it and bought this router. Don't be fooled by the similar reviews when doing your comparisons. This Makita is a fine, meticulously crafted tool with plastic and metal in all the right places. It routes beautifully, is easy to assemble/disassemble for bit and accessory swaps and the bits don't get heat-stuck (as was the case with the other router). Many add-ons are available for this as well for different applications. If a carry bag is a must i'd recommend searching the web and spending the extra $15 or so for a small Makita bag or just use a generic tote. It's worth it.

Still a very good tool at a quality above the rest but inferior in quality to the Makita tools of the past.

Have not used the router yet. However, the Makita tools I have are excellent quality and it makes a difference using them.

Some facts necessary up front. This isn't sponsored/didn't come from any seeds program review. Paid in full for all items out of pocket. Routers were purchased over 5 years ago. Have been used hard daily(commercial cabinet shop) 40+hours a week professionally cutting materials ranging from wood to solid surface countertops and everything in between. They have not been babied in any way.They've been dropped several times and knocked off benches over the years. They have never failed to put "food on my table "........ever. Thinking of buying it/them and already in the makita platform? Well, you won't regret it.

Lots of power but no light.

Never owned a Router before I purchased this one ,works well /easy to handle but my major complaint with this tool is the wrench provided to change the bit is useless ,very hard to change bits but once the bit is in works very well

The router is fine ish. I suspect Ive used this router more than most people, Id say over 1000 hours. Good is it (used to) low cost, it was about 99 2 years ago, Bad the speed dial is loose, ( ive had about 4 of them) and the dial is always loose. The collet is also kinda cheap. I dont think there is probably a beetter trim router at this price though. which is why I keep getting them for my CNC

BASE PLATE IS DRILLED INCORRECTLY. WILL NOT CENTER UP. WILL HAVE TO RETURN IT TO STORE.

Powerful little palm router. Easy adjustments build quality seems very good.

Router gets extremely hot after using it for about 20 minutes. I’ve got a family member that uses a different brand palm router, and he said his does the same thing. Maybe they need more protection from heat. Other than that it’s a fantastic product.

Using this router on my CNC and it does a great job.

Very good router.feel great in hands and material is high quality compare to Bosch.I actually bought Bosch first but did not like the quality of the material but this router was great buy!
