Great product to retread your stairs instead of vinyl plank

I purchased 14 prefinished Stairtek oak treads and halfway through our installation, I noticed more than half of the treads were without the gloss protective finish along the decorative stairnose portion of the treads. In fact, there was obvious dusty debris on the stairnose surface which appeared to be residue from the sanding refinishing process leaving a very dry nonglossy surface. I was highly disappointed because i purchased this more expensive prefinished tread to eliminate the need for me to refinish the product and because i wanted a durable protective finish. When this defect was noticed, it was 2am and we had rented installation tools for the project therefore returning them to the store would have been a major inconvenience. I decided to continue with the install unfortunately i will now have to purchase a protective gloss and apply it to the defective stair treads myself which will increase my costs and i will not have the durable factory finish on treads that I specifically desired and paid for. Overall, the treads look great from the top and are of excellent quality.

Love the new look of our stairs. Had lived w bare builder grade stairs for several years after I yanked carpet off in disgust. Had handyman install. We aren’t at all handy so cannot speak to installation. Extremely pleased w result. Well worth the cost!

They cut well and are very sturdy. They are much quieter than just having carpet. The wife is pleased and that’s what matters.

Product quality ok but not product we needed. Mistakenly ordered retread when we actually need the original stair.

The product itself is excellent. Good quality wood. Nicely finished. No damage during shipment. I had some ordering issues as the wrong product was shipped. No problem returning and then getting the correct product. Otherwise I would rate 5 stars. Very satisfied with the finished project.

I’m not happy at all. Installed 10 stairs only to find out the glue had expired almost a year ago, now everytime you go up the stairs they make like a popping sound. I had to return three stairs due to damage. I’m so disappointed.

Easy to install and matches well with white risers. Use a good saw blade for fine cuts and finish. Blends in very well with existing red oak hardwood. One tread had a crack, may be shipping damage. Get one or two treads extra.

As advertised, I'm very satisfied with this retread for the stairs carpet replacement DIY project I did. The installation video provided by Stairtek was very helpful. I did cut my existing nosing in order for the retread to sit properly once installed (otherwise the nosing will be sticking out of the stair skirt). I watched some other videos on youtube to get some guidance. The quality of the finish is great.

One of the steps split the length of the board just setting it in place and stepping on it.....rest held up and are fine but they are kind of expensive and lost one right away

We opted to have the carpeting on our stairs replaced with Red Oak Retreads and hired a contractor to do the work. We were very happy with the product except for two of the treads. Those treads had a very dark grain that was somewhat unattractive. Most of the discoloration was removed cnce the treads were trimmed to size. Otherwise we were very happy with the product.

All three ordered had to be returned. They all had large scratches on the surface. Installation delayed a week.

Good product. Easy to work with. I purchased the stair tread measuring device also. It helped immensely to get a tight fit with stair treads. No gaps on sides at all

I bought these to redo my previously carpeted stairs. So far it is coming out great and am very pleased with the results. I can only think of a couple if negatives. For some unexplained reason, the 36" length is more expensive than the 42" length. Also, the color consistency from piece to piece could be a little better.

Very nice finish on high quality retreads. Returns are very well installed. Quality prefinished surface is a real time saver and well worth the extra cost. Treads arrived defect free. Really nice finished product. Wife loves them... enough said.

I was extremely satisfied with the finish and the quality of the stair. Being prefinished it cut down my time by days since I did not have to apply any finish. Did an entire flight of stairs in less than 3 Highly recommend this option .....
