  • Excellent pellet quality (high heat output with less ash)

I quite happy with Pres-to-logs wood pellets. They are more dense and produce less ash than the previous brand green supreme wood pellets also purchased at home depot. The pellet size is very consistent preventing my pellet stove to clog.

Pros: High Quality

Every bag out of entire pallet had large frozen clumps. This created issues with my boiler causing it to shut down.

These pellets burn dirty, set my draft with a manometer, so it's not because the the stove is set wrong, heat is ok not great and price is ok, you get what you pay for, if you like to clean your stove a lot and don't mind average heat, this is the wood pellet for you.

  • BEST EVER!

Was using Lignetics and the Loews' pellets, which clumped up in the fire pot, sooted up the glass and would not burn below the high setting without clumping. These Heat'rs pellets from Home Depot, which I just bought a ton of are amazing. They burn completely even on a very low setting and keep the house toasty warm. Hardly any ash and no sooting up of the glass. Go Home Depot!!

  • Depends on what brand they have at the time, Stay far away from American wood Fibers pellets
  • February 06, 2014

They carry different brands all the time. If you happen to come across a red, white and orange bag, make sure they are not made by American Wood Fibers. They are full of dust, at least 1/4 of the bag is sawdust. they are horrible. I tend to use a kitchen strainer to shake mine out to begin with so the dust doesn't clog my augur but these things are the worst. Keep far away because 1/4 of the cost will end up in the trash, which means, if you buy a pallet, you can bet that 7 bags of them will be a total loss.

Cons: Not Durable, Difficult to Use, too much dust

  • STOVE CHOW BRAND THE BEST I HAVE USED BY FAR!
  • December 30, 2012

I HAVE BEEN USING DIFFERENT PELLETS THAT COST MORE AND THOUGHT TO GIVE HOME DEPOT'S PRODUCT A TRY. I BOUGHT 10 BAGS AT THE ALLENTOWN, PA STORE TO TRY OUT. STOVE CHOW BRAND! WITH THE OTHER BRANDS MY AUGER WAS ALWAYS MAKING LOUD NOISES, WITH STOVE CHOW NOT ONCE. AFTER THE 10 BAGS WERE GONE I PURCHASED 3 TONS AT THE ST. CLAIR, PA. STORE

Pros: Easy to Clean, High Quality, alot less ash, burns hotter and cleaner

  • Heat Resource Oak Pellets
  • February 09, 2014

Probably the worst product I have ever purchased for my stove! I have been burning pellets for 14 years. I always look for hardwood pellets and thought that I had found another source. The bags are full of sawdust. Lots of pieces that are over 1.5 inches in length. An over abundance of ash. I am glad that I only got a half ton. I will have to go back to buying a few bags when I try a new kind. These come in an orange bag and are from Arkansas.

Pros: i will be out soon Cons: poor quality

  • FireSide Ultra wood pellets
  • March 05, 2014

I have been burning about 5 ton of pellets a year now for the past 6 years. These pellets are by far the dirtiest burning I have run across. I have burned many different brands because HD just gets whatever brand is available. I bought 4 ton of the FireSide Ultra and these are the first brand that I have had hard crust in the pot. My stove still can go 3 days without cleaning but I usually clean every 2 days with these pellets. I must say the Enviro stoves I have, Vista Flame VF170 & Mini really handle the dirty pellets very well. I had to clean my Englander every day due to hard crust blocking the air. I will buy these again if that is all that is available.

  • Stove Chow - ABSOLUTE GARBAGE
  • March 08, 2014

Just tried (1) free bag of Stove Chow pellets for my Harman P68. What an absolute nightmare.Filled the empty hopper with them before bed last night. Woke up this morning to a 60 degree house. When I went to see why, I saw that my stove was not running. Sometime during the night, the auger actually got so clogged with the loose sawdust that it was packed solid and could not turn. The stove shut itself down. I had to get my shop vac and suck the pellets and debris out of the hopper and feeder. They were still almost full, so it obviously took very little time and product to create such a mess.So thankful that this was a one and only (and free) bag of this garbage. My stove is back to normal, running on our usual quality pellets and not the junk produced by Stove Chow.

Cons: poor quality, potentially damaging to equipment
