I wanted a nice metal roof vent that would last as long as my new roof. The construction seems to be equal to that, installation was easy except for installing the vent hose from the bathroom fan the smooth pipe connection could not guaranty the hose would not come off later, i was force to glue to ensure a lasting connection. Over all satisfied and would recommend.

  • Easy to install, the door is not that quiet
  • May 27, 2014

The unit is easy to install and looks very solid. The only complain is the auto shut door is not that quiet at night. The wind will push the door open and close at night and easy to hear from the bathroom. But after I closed the bathroom door, it's not too bad. For that price, this is the good buy.

Pros: Easy to Install, Easy to Work With, Great Value Cons: Noisy

  • Good easy kit to use

For this price this a really good kit. The vent is a little chincy and I suspect the grill over it will rust away quickly- but it can easily replaced. And it seems to be a real solid powder coat over the actual vent. So that should last indefinitely.. The hose feels like it will rip cause it's so thin but it held up to my excessive manhandling caused by attic insulation in my skin making me unusually crabby...

  • Great Vent kit

Amazed that the whole kit was about the same price as just a roof vent. I have two of these on my roof and they work great. Alot better than trying to run a 4 inch hose up to a regular attic vent

Pros: Easy to Install, Seals Well, Economical

  • Much sturdier than other vent caps
  • April 11, 2012

The incredibly well made roof cap is very robust and inexpensive when compared to buying an aluminum cap out of a bin that is no where near the same quality. The starter collar connects easily and installation was simple. The only drawback is the duct included in the kit does not have a listing label which won't pass inspection in our town. I had already planned on using an insulated duct that is listed so it really didn't matter to me anyway.

Mounts as easily as any other. Built in damper is not too noisy when windy. Except for foil tape, kit includes basics to make your connection.

  • Roof vent requires a good installation.
  • November 04, 2014

The roof vent was installed by a professional. I had to hire a roofer to properly seal the vent. Be careful when installing through the roof. When it rains, the vent is very noisy. It should have been built with a sound barrier

Pros: Economical Cons: rain noise
