The back part of the caddy that hangs over the door measures 4+ inches long; the width of the "opening" in which the hook can hang over the door is about 2.5 inches .... meaning this can fit over just about any standard tub/shower enclosure door. This caddy should not, in our experience, affect the opening and closing of the door; to make sure this stays in place, the included heavy duty suction cups keep the caddy firmly positioned.
