A:  Thanks for your question, HELP! Our mounting instructions state to 1. "Hold the cabinet at the desired position on wall. NOTE: Make sure cabinet is level. 2. Mark mounting points on wall through holes in hanging rail. Therefore, the screw entry on your old cabinet should be in the hanging rail at the top. A:  No, I don’t think you would be able to install this as recessed, especially because of the trim at top and bottom.  

A:  We didn't recess the cabinet, there is trim around the top and bottom that would make it difficult to recess and have it look good.

A:  Not without a lot of extra craftsmanship. It is designed to be surface mounted, and that is how we installed ours.
