    A:  yes, perfectly, I have highland hickory in living room, with this reducer it transitions perfectly into the vinyl kitchen tile.

    A:  Yes, It will work on that. You install the metal guide on any surface then install the laminate piece. Should be not problem.

    A:  yes you can reduce the reducer, but you much have the proper tools. I used a power planer, easy to install.

    A:  Length.. Yes, Depth.. you can but it's tricky. You can "Trim" the step down side with a table saw but you can not make it any deeper than what it is. example: if you have a 3/4 of an inch step up from one floor to the next you can not make this work, but if you have 3/16 of an inch you can trim as stated above.

      A:  I would secure the carpet down and use the T Mold. I don't think the reducer will work in your situation.
