A: Hi Patti, Thank you for your purchase of our Wright Products Universal Knob Latch. We are sorry to hear you are unable to slide the lock up to lock and down to unlock. Was your lever installed in a horizontal position? If installed vertically the tab the lock slides will not move into a locked position. If further assistance is needed please contact our Hampton Care team at 1-800-562-5625 or at www.hampton.care, one of our associates would be happy to help.

Answer This Question
A: If you see springs, you have taken it apart more than intended. Everything is ready to go into place once the holes have been drilled. Only thing that needs 'assembly' is to put the rod into the knob then use the screws to connect the front to the back (knob to the latch).
