Q:Can I use this pole to attach a pruning saw?
by|Aug 13, 2020
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  I have used it to attach a paint roller extension. I would think if the pruning saw has the same thread size you would be able to use it. If not, take it back to Home Depot.

Q:How is this different from the "convertible" extension poles by Wooster? Confused by the different features of the Wooster Poles.
    by|Feb 10, 2020

    Answer This Question

A:  The convertible extension comes in shorter lengths and possibly could be at its best for painting interior. The Sherlock Extension Pole is the standard expandable extension pole and can be used on any cleaning tool that allows the screw head. It is all you need if you are wanting the height to clean the gutter screen with Wooster gutter brush.

A:  The Wooster Sherlock extension pole features a metal standard threaded tip only. The Sherlock GT Convertible has a bayonet tip that is compatible with many different Wooster tools. It locks them into place and prevents any loosening. The Sherlock GT Convertible also has a threaded tip in the grip of the pole that makes the pole compatible for all your standard threaded tools. A:  This pole is straight up Awesome!! The pole locks in to place at specific lengths. It is easy to adjust on the go. Very sturdy fiberglass construction. I painted my 20+ foot cathedral ceiling with a 16 inch roller attached with no problem. Worth the extra cash.

A:  The Wooster Sherlock extension pole is compatible with all standard threaded tools. You will not need any conversion tips. It sounds like you may be thinking of our Sherlock GT line of extension poles. These poles feature a bayonet tip that locks in Wooster compatible tools. However, it's not necessary to purchase a convertible tip for these. The convertible tip can be found in the handle of the pole. Q:Is the 4-8 ft (vs the 2-4 ft) too long to paint walls comfortably? Meaning does the extra length get in the way? I have ceilings to paint too, but have plenty of walls as well. Thanks.

                      Answer This Question

A:  I have typical 8 ft walls and found the length was good. Just be sure to take it easy toward the top of the wall. Or tape the ceiling at the edge. I got a little too vigorous once or twice and bumped the ceiling. Otherwise I found it really helpful for keeping my arms from getting too tired and my back from hurting while painting. It was also great for painting a cement floor!

A:  This depends on the size of your rooms and the space you have to maneuver, along with a bit of personal preference and painting style. If ordering this product online, you can return to your local Home Depot store for the shorter length should it not work for your project, or do an online return. The Wooster Sherlock extension poles are in all Home Depot stores, and local store inventory can be checked online.
