Q:can i use a float in a stock water tank with a Woodford faucet?

Answer This Question
A: We do see Woodford hydrants used in these types of applications pretty commonly. The parts may wear out sooner than normal and need to be replaced and this can be done from above ground. Woodford hydrants are not intended for this type of application, however again, we do hear about this from time to time. Expert Woodford customer care support available at 1-800-308-0864. A: Woodford parts only work on Woodford products. Woodford, The Choice of Professionals.

A: Depends on why it busted ? I had one where it pulled very hard due to age and bent pipe. You can get just the replacement parts. Might be best to ask a plumber and if it’s really old replace it.

Q:Will a 1/2” inlet water line work or must you use a 3/4” water line?

Answer This Question
A: A 1/2 in. line can be run to the hydrant yet will need to get a bushing to go from the 1/2 in. line to the 3/4 in. connection. Woodford can be contacted at 1-800-308-0864 if there are any other questions.

Q:Can I buy just the orange handle?
by|May 8, 2018

Answer This Question
A: I doubt it. It's touted as "freezeless" because the water shutoff mechanism is located at the bottom of the pipe, presumably below the freezing level of the ground in your area. Since the water shutoff mechanism is located at the bottom of the pipe, removing the pipe deprives the upper handle of a function. Of course, that's not a problem if all you want is for the handle to serve as lawn art or a doorstop.

Answer This Question
A: THe Y34 is meant for "non-potable" solutions. Woodford sells Models S3, S4H, Thermalines and H34s that comply with the 1/4/14 Safe Drinking Water Act. HomeDepot.com sells both the Thermaline and H34 hydryants. View Woodford's statement on the low lead law here http://www.woodfordmfg.com/woodford/LowLeadLaw.html

Answer This Question
A: The Woodford Y34 does not contain a backflow device. You can purchase a Woodford 50H add-on backflow preventer. Search on homedepot.com for a 50H-BR (brass) 204792578 or 50H-CH (chrome) finishes.

A: The design in and of itself is anti backflow. That's what makes it freezeless.

Answer This Question
A: Woodford Y34 is a 3/4" female inlet so you can reduce from the 1 in. to 3/4 in. or look at the Y1 with the 1in. female inlet.
