      Answer This Question

A:  Rose, Thank you for viewing this Whirlpool Over the Range Microwave. The wattage on this microwave is referring to the microwave use. This model can use up to 1100 watts. For convection cooking, the heat distributed in the cavity of the oven would depend on the temperature setting that you choose to bake/roast your food items. Q:What is the sone rating on this unit when the fan is at the highest setting?

        Answer This Question

A:  I wanted to know the sones, which is a rating as to the amount of noise the fan generates. CFM's indicate the "sucking" power of the exhaust fan. The CFM rating is in the product info, so I have that but I don't know how it is rated for noise. I've chosen to go with another manufacturer as they were able to answer all of the questions I had, whereas this one did not.

            Q:Does the convection brown?
            by|Oct 26, 2013
            1 Answer
            Answer This Question

A:  Mazie, I am not sure exactly what you mean by "brown". I do not want to make any assumptions in trying to answer your question. If I do not answer your question below, please clarify and restate. This Whirlpool Microwave has a convection feature that allows you to bake items in the microwave as you would in an oven with convection cooking. Convection cooking utilizes a fan to push air in the cavity that will provide uniform baking, faster cook times, and at lower temperature than traditional baking. Also, for baked good, it does provide a more crispy coating while keeping the inside gooey and moist, for example, chocolate chip cookies. For meats, it would put a crust on the outside while keeping the inside tender and juicy. Thank you for viewing this Whirlpool home appliance.
