      Answer This Question

A:  When we set the clock, we could not find where to set it to AM or PM. So, we looked at the instructions and it confirmed that there is not a means to set the AM or PM.

A:  Hi Projectmgr, you have to touch the options/clock to get the clocks sub menu. Take a look at page 4 of the use and care manual located in the info & guides box to the right of the product overview on the web product page. This is the page for settings.

      by|May 3, 2023

A:  To set the clock, press the option/clock button once, clock/energy will appear. Then options will start to scroll across the screen, press the option to set the clock. Enter the correct time of day and press start, then options will start to scroll again to set AM/PM select the desired option for the time of day. The key to doing this is reading each option very careful before making a selection.

Q:how do you attach this 14 inch deep microwave to a 12 inch deep cabinet?

A:  Make sure you use the wall mounting bracket that is in the box. Use the templates that come with the microwave and drill holes though the bottom of the cabinet. Secure using the scews with washers that are in the box. The microwave will extend past the bottom of the cabinet. This is o.k. because that is were the vent is.

A:  The normal depth of kitchen cabinets is usually 12 inches. Mine are 12 inches deep. According to the instructions, that is the minimum depth. The maximum depth is 14 inches or the depth of the microwave. Using the templates supplied with the instructions, the install of the microwave involved me reducing the height of the cabinet above the microwave. After installation, the microwave fit perfectly under the cabinet but does stick out about an one and half inches beyond the face of the cabinets but only an inch beyond the cabinet doors. The look is just fine and leaves plenty of space above the front of the microwave for the exhaust of the fan, as I installed the microwave in the original re-circulating mode.

A:  If you would just take the time to review any pictures of over the range microwaves, they all stick out at least 2" past the cabinets that they are mounted in. I replaced mine with a slightly larger capacity than the original one that burned out after 15 yrs and it sticks out almost 3" and we love it.

A:  I had the same problem, since we recently remodeled the was some left over crown molding and I used it to frame in the microwave.

Q:Is the handle plastic or metal?

                Answer This Question

A:  I like the way the handle looks as it blends with the rest of the stainless steel look. In spite of its sturdy feel and the way it looks, I believe the handle is not steel. I placed a magnet on the handle and on the door. The magnet only stuck to the door. I didn't say the handle is not metal. It just isn't steel or iron. It could be a non-ferrous metal, like aluminum, or it could be plastic. Not a deal breaker for me.

A:  Fancy, The handle on this Over the Range Microwave in Stainless Steel is made of metal. This is a great benefit as it will be durable and able to handle opening after opening. Thank you for viewing this Whirlpool home appliance.

A:  The handle on the pull open door is made of a very durable plastic that does not give or feel weak in any way. This design has been used on whirlpool units for years and has been found to be more than adequate.
