A: Depends on your lightbulb. It clips to it so if you have a longer bulb then sure there is a gap

Q:I bought these to replace the dome lights that are held in with screws so that the lightbulb is completely encased. With the old system, I could only use regular incandescent bulbs, the old fashioned kind. Can I use any other type bulb wtih this since it is not totally enclosing the light bulb?

A: The inside clip only fits on the old type light bulbs, the round shaped ones.

A: You can use this clip-on shade with any type of A shape light bulb (incandescent, LED or CFL). It has to be an A shape light bulb.

A: Yes. They work better with rounded LED bulbs. It's hard to get them on a spiral fluorescent bulb.

A: It is designed for a standard lightbulb. You can certainly try using a different type of bulb of the same circumference, but if it’s not a tight fit you will risk it sliding off.
