Q:Can this fan be wired to an already installed wall control that has a dimmer?

1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: A ceiling fan cannot be wired directly to a dimmer switch. If you are looking for fan speed control and dimming capability for the light kit of your fan, then you need to use a ceiling fan and light wall control or remote control with a ceiling fan. If you are uncertain on how to install this fan, please contact a local electrician for assistance.

Answer This Question
A: Yes, this Comet ceiling fan is remote control adaptable. We would recommend our 7787000 or our 7787800 ceiling fan and light remote control. The instructions for both of these remotes are listed on the Westinghouse Lighting website and are also included in the packaging of the remote. If you are installing this fan on a sloped ceiling and using a remote control, then you will also need a cathedral ceiling canopy kit in order to allow the room for the receiver.

Answer This Question
A: No, it is not recommended to use dimmable lights on it
by|Aug 7, 2019
A: In order for the fan light kit to be dimmable, this fan will need to separately have either a ceiling fan and light wall control or a ceiling fan and light remote control installed that is capable of the dimming function. The control and the type of dimmable light bulbs will need to be compatible with each other.
