                Answer This Question

A:  The SPJ-SBF cannot be secured to the top of a roof. Please go to the following link, to see the user guide: http://www.wernerco.com/docs/us/userguides/spj-sbf.pdf?Status=Master&sfvrsn=2 Installation of Pole Braces: 1.Loosen wing nut on brace clamp bolt and slide clamp plates around top of each wood pole, ensuring seam of wood pole is facing work wall. Tighten wing nut when brace is at desired height and fasten brace clamp plates to pole. 2.Position poles in desired location along work wall and secure each pole to work wall with brace at top of pole. Ensure round leg of brace is attached to work wall straight out from pole and is fastened to work wall using at least two screws with a minimum holding strength equivalent to 1/4 inch x 3 inch, type AB screws. The angle bar of brace can be fastened to either the right or the left as desired and must be fastened to work wall using at least two screws with a minimum holding strength equivalent to 1/4 inch x 3 inch, type AB screws. The two arms of the brace have been designed with 32 inch spacing to allow them to be attached to work wall on studs spaced at 16 inch centers. 3.Stabilize bottom of pole by using either a pole anchor, or by placing with a level piece of wood under pole. 4.Install pole brace at bottom of pole and other locations as required. Poles must be supported by a pole brace at top, bottom and every 10 feet in between.

                        Answer This Question

A:  The extended length the foldable support brace can hold the 4x4 away from the building is 14" maximum.

A:  It depends on where you have them attached. If on the side wall, then the length of the round rod determines the offset. Likewise if on the roof, it is a function of how far on the roof you attach the brace, but remember, you want the pole vertical, so distance to the sidewall is the determining factor. The length of the round rod is 29".

A:  For my application, there is 31 inches from the 4x4 to the wall. This gives plenty of room from the pump jack deck to the wall. The arms are long enough to allow for clearance between the wall and the jack deck in case you need to have the arms pivoted a little high or low. Aim to have the arms level, and you'll clear the deck with nearly a foot of room.
