Q:Need replacement or repair kit for Febco 785 backflow preventer, but find only 765, which looks the same. Interchangeable?

A:  No it is not the same. I had a hard time finding the 785 but be persistent they are out there.

    A:  No. The check valve is a separate piece.

    A:  Yes it will. I've used that repair kit twice on my FEBCO 765-1, which is a 1 inch unit.

    Q:Can you add a comment to the item description to explain which Febco Pressure Vacuum Breaker model this works with? From the Q&A section it looks like this fits the “Febco Series 765 3/4 in. Bronze NPT Pressure Vacuum Breaker” but it would be nice to know that from the product description. Maybe a link between the two products would work too? Thank you.

    A:  On the valve body there should be a number that reads Febco 765. If so use the 1/2 to 3/4 bonnet kit. Most residential homes use this size valve.

    A:  The brass dome over the valve has the size imprinted on it.

    A:  I think they are all pretty standard but to be for sure I would take yours off and take it up to Home Deot. They are really easy to un screw off the top.
