            Q:My tub has an empty drain "hole"-no crossbars in it. Can this product be installed properly if there are no crossbars? There is nothing for the brass pin adapter to screw into (if that is necessary). Please advise if I can use this product by pushing it into an empty drain hole. Thanks.

              A:  It really needs to screw into something for it to be totally secure. I'm not sure it would work otherwise.

                    A:  You only need to remove the old stopper and replace with the Watco foot actuated stopper. There needs to be the 3/8 in. threads where the cross bars intersect. If there is a different size thread, may want to consider the Watco SimpliQuick Tub Fix bathtub stopper. The 58751-PP-CP-G has a combo reversible pin adapter for both 3/8 in. and 5/16 in. commonly installed threads. Watco is the Choice of the Professionals

                              A:  Watco sells a SimpliQuick Tub Fix bathtub stopper that would be a great replacement for the bronze foot actuated that Watco doesn't produce. Simple installation and catches hair and other foreign debris. Search for 58750-PP-BZ-G-47 on HomeDepot.com. Watco's customer service line is 1-800-308-0864.
