A: We appreciate your interest, Regine. Rust-Oleum Watco Teak Oil needs to be applied with a brush, lint-free cloth, roller or paint sprayer. We do not recommend using a spray bottle, as this product may clog the nozzle or not properly saturate the service.

A: We appreciate your interest! While Rust-Oleum Watco Teak Oil can be used on exterior surfaces, we do not recommend it for use on decks and on other areas that will be exposed to foot traffic. Instead, please give us a call at (800) 373-6333, so we can gather more details about the surface and help offer a suitable recommendation!

Answer This Question
A: Happy to clear things up! Since Rust-Oleum Watco Teak Oil is not intended for use on floor surfaces, we recommend using a Rust-Oleum Varathane Foor Finish Polyurethane instead. You can use either an oil or water-based. You can stain bare wood with a Varathane Wood Stain prior to applying the floor polyurethane.

Q:What is the benefit of the VOC
by|Jul 7, 2017

Answer This Question
A: Thanks for reaching out, Leslie! We make lower VOC products to comply with the EPA regulations that are in place. The benefit of having a lower VOC Watco Teak Oil is that areas that have tighter VOC restrictions can actually use the product - which is our goal. We want to have our products out there for everyone to use. We formulate the products so that there's less solvent, but without sacrificing the performance.
