Q:This appears to have a heat tape that runs all over it. What is the operating voltage for this mirror warmer? Is it 120VAC? How much space does this require behind the mirror? It appears to have a small box on the back. Are those wires on the back intended to be hardwired to the bathroom light or something? Or do you add a plug so it can be plugged in?

Answer This Question

A:  Operating voltage of the mirror defogger is 120VAC. Box on the back is the actual location where the power wires leave and it must be entirely within the area of the new electrical junction box (please see Diagram C on Page 5 of the Installation Manual). Typically the most convenient junction box is the one that supplies power to the lighting above the mirror. This will enable the system to turn on automatically whenever the bathroom lights are turned on.
