Q:can I use this for Penofin?
    by|Feb 25, 2014

    Answer This Question

A:  The ProCoat can be used with oil based materials that will clean up with mineral spirits. At largest, the ProCoat can spray using a 0.015" spray tip. It is always a good idea to learn from the manufacturer of the material you wish to spray what size spray tip they recommend to spray their material. Usually, this information can be found on the back of the can.

      Answer This Question

A:  Yes it will spray stains and other oil base paint. Cleanup is different of course.

      by|May 2, 2023

A:  Yes, you can spray many oil-based paints with this unit, particularly those that can be cleaned up with mineral spirits. Keep in mind this unit can handle a maximum size spray tip of 0.015", so when shopping for materials to spray make sure they can be sprayed through a 0.015" tip or smaller.

A:  Yes, you can purchase different size tips that will give you smaller or larger spray patterns. Please call Wagner at 1-800-328-8251 if you would like to know more about how the tip sizes work.

A:  Yes. You do not have to use the spray gun that comes with the machine. I have not tried to find a different spray tip but I am almost sure they are interchangeable with other guns.

Q:do you have to thin the paint?

                  Answer This Question

A:  No paint thinning required. It sprays your paint directly out of the 5 gallon bucket or 1 gallon paint bucket you purchase at the store.

A:  That would depend on your paint. It will spray many latex paints without thinning. However the ProCoat can spray with a maximum tip size of .015. If the manufacturer of the paint recommends using a larger tip size than a .015 (ex: .017 or .019), you will most likely need to thin your paint.

A:  The instructions make no mention of thinning. If you need to thin, you probably need more power.

Q:how well does the #0515077 sprayer work on commerical applications

                        Answer This Question

A:  It really depends on what you consider a commercial application. As a reference, the ProCoat is a consumer grade machine. It is capable of spraying at 2800 PSI with a maximum of a .015 spray tip.

A:  works nice... i have done 3 story houses with this painter

                          by|May 2, 2023

A:  I would rate it decent. Cleanup time will be your problem on commercial applications. It takes me a long time 30-45 minutes of cleanup time. If you have someone working for you that is going to cut corners to go home early, this machine will NOT last you anytime and will be broke. If you follow clean up and storage instructions, it is worth the money.

A:  If you're considering a commercial application, you'll need a commercial grade machine. Unfortunately this Wagner sprayer is for a Harry Homeowner with thin paint.
