Q:I painted my living room ceiling for 5 hours, but I think the roller that came with the system has a nap for walls. The package states that this product works on walls and ceilings. I have a textured ceiling, not popcorn, it is a drywall compound brush stomper textured ceiling. I bought Behr Premium Plus Interior Ceiling Paint, which is supposed to cover with one coat. However, several places have thin paint and other places the nap did not reach past the texture to paint the ceilings flat surface. I see that a 3/4" nap and a 3/8" nap is available for the system. But, how do I know which one came with the product when the package does not indicate this? I will have to redo my ceiling with a bigger nap.

A:  We always supply the 3/8" nap roller covers with our roller kits as that is standard for most types of walls. You are correct in that 3/4" nap is available and would make a difference in this case. Good luck with your projects.

A:  I've used that ceiling paint before, and it is thin, and requires more than 1 coat. I recommend using an interior flat paint over ceiling paint if you were looking for 1 coat.

A:  The 9 and 12 are referring to length, not quantity. I have several Wagner painting products and couldn’t imagine needing so many covers.

A:  I never used it for stain but I don"t think it would be a problem. I used mine many times with great sucess but the switch to turn it on broke and I could not get it fixed. Good Luck.

A:  I wouldn’t use the Paintmate for stains. It would be very hard to clean. I’ve used mine for latex paints that clean up with water. Never tried anything oil based

A:  Thank you for your inquiry. Stain can be used with Wagner Paint Mate and depending on the viscosity you might use more or less material. Please give our technical support a call at 1-800-328-8251 and we will be able to assist you.

A:  Since stain is very thin, I would think that you may find that you would be losing a lot of stain through the roller. I use stain on my cedar siding on my house and I have found that the best way to apply it is with a 4" stain brush.

A:  I used this with the Behr semi transparent solid color stain, It worked great, but i believe its no longer a real oil stain as it uses water cleanup. It makes fast work out of a big job! Cleanup is always slow with this system as its important to really rinse thourghly, but long cleanup is still way better than doing the constant dip and roll old way. I love this machine even with the long cleanups.
