Q:Planning on taking the carpet off. I needed something to protect our feet from plywood/subfloor splinters until we can get a LVP flooring. Maybe months. Carpet got bunch of holes. Option- keep tripping or take carpet out. Would that work with subfloor?

Q:SDS says 270, thanks. How can it be “no odor”? Is something inaccurate or are the VOCs odorless? Thanks.

    Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for reaching out! The VOC level of a product will not always indicate the odor level of a product. Please also keep in mind that odor sensitivity can vary from person to person. Since this is a water-based product, Rust-Oleum Varathane Water-Based Floor Polyurethane will have a lower odor than an oil-based finish. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3

Q:What is recommended for general weekly cleaning? Is it safe to use a steam mop on this finish? I’ve used a steam mop on my engineered hardwood floors for years with no problems.

        Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for reaching out, Judy. After Rust-Oleum Varathane Crystal Clear Floor Finish has reached a full cure, the surface may be cleaned with a standard, non-abrasive household or floor cleaner. We do not recommend using a steam mop as the exposure to direct heat can cause the finish to blister and peel. -Rust-Oleum Product Support 14
