Q:What is the purpose of the plastic gasket?
by|Apr 4, 2024

Answer This Question

A:  Hello, there are a couple of different plastic pieces that go with this valve. The first is the anti-siphon device, which is the oval piece above the valve. This prevents water from back-flowing into the valve when turned off, further protecting your fresh-water system. The second plastic piece included with each valve is a flange piece to help with the valve's installation. This sits behind the brass faceplate, and will force the valve to be installed at a 2-degree angle, allowing water to drain fully upon shutoff. We hope this helps with your project.

          Answer This Question

A:  Hello, the knob on top of the valve is the vacuum breaker. This piece prevents water backflow from entering the valve when turned off, ensuring no 'grey water' enters your fresh water line. We hope this helps with your project.
